Re: Aged Primers Bad?

TW = Twin Cities arsenal.
Den = Denver arsenal.

Not sure of the others, they might be commercial manufacture.

All US surplus 30 cal rifle ammo (30-06) manufactured before 1952 used corrosive primers, and there were a few lots after that were also.

Re: Disarming vets

This does not apply to all Vets, only those who've been deemed mentally incompetent to handle their own affairs. The problem is who decides? When my wife and I applied for guardianship/conservatorship of our mentally handicapped son we had to go before a judge. If it's someone on the VA staff making...

Re: IMR 4198

As rugersol has already stated, 4198 really isn't suited for any of the cartridges you've listed. 243's have a reputation as barrel burners, if you are planning on shooting it quite a bit I would recommend the slowest powder you could safely use say H1000 to squeeze as much life out of the barrel as...

Re: commie cast

If Comcast doesn't want gun owners money then don't give them any. Problem solved. Except when they own a franchise that's a monopoly in your area for broadband Internet access. When Qwerst pissed me off for the last time I looked into Comcast. After realizing they were no better, I went with Clear .

Re: Crossroads Gun Show - Reno

Wow, no one wiggled out from taking pictures at a gun show? I don't think MWCA allows cameras inside one of their shows.

Re: WTB - Bolt Carrier Group 223

BCG's were in short supply before the current buying frenzy started. If DSA says they can have you one in 6 months thats probably the soonest you'll find one.

Re: AR cycling issues...

Looks like the bolt isn't going completely into battery. Maybe the new spring/O ring isn't letting the extractor go over the cartridge rim?

Re: 5" Colt Commander???

I'd be tempted to put it on gunbroker. You might get enough for it to buy two more.

Re: Olympic firearms response to New York state

Or he just wants some attention to his company and props from the gun community for sticking it to the man. I would like to think that he is being honest in this, and not trying to use the fear mongering and current political climate like that. But, I could (and probably am) wrong. I'd be more impr...

Re: Dorner is cornered - LIVE Feed

I hope they got the right guy this time. Their track record to this point hasn't exactly been stellar.

Re: Dayton Said.....

I've always been a single issue voter for 2nd amendment rights with taxation coming a close second. Yes, I have opinions about everything else (gay rights, immigration, fiscal cliff, et.al.), but to me it's ALWAYS been "Does this guy/gal support the 2nd amendment" and everything else come...

Re: Lots of ammo found

I've been asking around about this. And from what i heard from two different gun shops today was basically the same thing.... The government is supposed to be regulating something with the powder in the near future. Not sure what is being added or taken out. But i heard two stories on this. One is ...

Re: Where ti find large pistol primers??

Eleanor08 wrote:You know, every time I've been to Gunstop, I haven't seen any primers or powder. I'm not sure he keeps it in back or if hes just out of it.

John keeps the powder and primers in back, you have to ask for them.
