Re: Which gun magazine subscriptions?

The only gun magazines I still receive are American Rifleman and Shooting Sports USA.

I long ago came to the conclusion that modern gun writers are nothing but "equipment whores" all too willing to sell off their creditability for whatever goodies their sponsors hand out.

Re: The safety of St. Paul's streets in the 1920's

According to my Dear ol' Dad, Saint Paul declared itself an "open city". All mobsters were welcome as long as they behaved themselves and spent their money here. The problem was, mobsters being low lives, brought their troubles with them. John Dillinger lived on Lincoln Ave. by Lexington P...

Re: ?perforated? primers

There are only 2 reasons I know of that will cause pierced primers. 1) the most common, Over pressure loads . 2) A misshapen firing pin tip. As your friend had a blown primer on one of his loads I'd say #1 is the problem. My guess, and thats all it is, is that either he's shooting different ammo tha...

Re: Sales Tax, Holy Crap!

I understand how a for profit business acts as a conduit, collecting sales tax and forwarding it to the state.

What I don't understand is, how a non-profit can collect annual dues, have no income tax liability but have to collect sales tax.

Sales Tax, Holy Crap!

I just recieved an email from the President of the Minnesota Rifle & Revolver Asso. Hi Guys: The MN Dept of Revenue has just assessed about $19,000.00 in back Sales Tax (2004, 05 & 06), penalties and fines to Minnetonka Game and Fish Club. This is not a rumor. I just got off the phone with t...

Re: Instructor convicted after rifle jams

This is the last word I'm going to post on this, as I'm tired of it and I'm uncomfortable being put in the position of defending the BATF. I have no love for them (BATF), and I find their spokesman's quote about a double barrel shotgun double firing being a machine gun troubling. However, what the b...

Re: Instructor convicted after rifle jams

Before everyone gets their undies in a bunch over this poorly written WND article. I would recommend reading the "Affidavit in support of criminal complaint" posted on page 1 http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=6&t=507483 7) Kiernicki explained that the fire...

Re: AJC Amicus Brief Supports DC Gun Control Laws

“Gun control laws safeguard liberty, rather then restrict it,” said AJC General Counsel Jeffrey Sinensky. “Democracy can only flourish when the government is permitted to protect its citizens from harm.”

I guess this means the Jews under Hittler were safe?

I'm not so sure that's true. I read an article awhile ago which argued that when you thin the coyote population, the smaller predators like fox and skunk fill the void and are much harder on pheasant numbers.

Yes, I shoot at Gopher. No, I'm not a member. I'm a member of Northstar Rifle(north of Red Wing) and I am President of the CMP program at Post 435 Gun Club.

Re: Chronograph Experiments

Let me rephrase it then.... Wonder if you could push that 58 gr pill out the .243 at over 4000 fps. And if you could, how fast could you do it? and what kind of accuracy will you have..? According to the Hodgdon Reloading Data Center 55 GR. NOS BT, 51.0gr H380, 4010 fps 58 GR. HDY V-MAX, 49.5gr H38...
