Re: Winchester Black Talon ammo...

Here's some examples I have of Black Talon in 45ACP. One was shot into a phone book and the other two into water jugs. Really amazing expansion considering the low velocity of the .45 and the 'talons' are very sharp.

Re: 9mm Carriers (Colion Noir)

I don't think shot placement has anything to do with stopping ability, it's all about the caliber (sarcasm). Of course, the only evidence I have to back that up is I overheard a gun dealer at the MWCA show over the weekend tell a prospecive .40 buyer "there was this one guy that got shot over a...

Re: None of thier business

It's none of their business if you drink, smoke, or have guns. It upsets me that they even ask the question but I guess it doesn't surprise me anymore. Like someone else said I'm sure answering yes to any of them will result in information being sent home. If they feel they must ask then there shoul...

Re: Felony charge for warning shot

I also noticed in the article they identified the caliber but not the gun and whether he was using high capacity magazines or if he had an assualt weapon in his arsenal of guns in the house. I'm sure that will be cleared up once a mainstream media picks this up.

Re: Felony charge for warning shot

I wonder if the Sheriff is as interested in finding the guys that confronted him and threatened his life as they are with charging him with a possible felony for defending himself while intoxicated. Maybe he'll use the 'Biden Defense', where firing a warning shot is all that is neccessary. Of course...

Re: Rifle Barrel Break-In??

Just curious if anyone has any photos or other evidence of damage done specifically from over cleaning or if the damage only shows up in accuracy. I've seen damage on the crown of a barrel due to being dropped or other physical abuse but I don't know what it would look like from cotton patches or ny...

Re: USPSA New Shooter Orientation - April 20th - Pine Island

I might have to make it to that. Will it be in the new clubhouse and range? It'd be worth going just to check out the new facilities.

Re: Rifle Barrel Break-In??

I probably don't shoot as much in a year as some of you do in a long day at the range but my opinion is that gun cleaning can turn into a contest amongst enthusiasts just to see who is more anal about their guns. I think this is similar to the auto enthusiasts who claim they change their oil more of...

Re: "Stolen Gun Blazes Violent Path"

Now I understand why the gun grabbers want universal registration and background checks. If those criminals would have been forced to go through a background check instead of just stealing the gun we could have prevented them from terrorizing the neighborhoods.

Re: Wells gun show?

Went today and despite the rummage sale items there's still enough sporting stuff to entertain me for a couple hours. Prices were outrageous but probably just a sign of the times. One table had Ruger BX25 mags for $90 and a brick of Remington .22LR for a mere $70!

Re: The Safety Bullet

That just made the top ten list of dumbest ideas in the world. I can't think of the other nine off the top of my head but I'll know them when I see them.... So for a pistol you load two of those 'safety' bullets and in the event you actually want/need to fire the gun you simply remember to rack the ...

Re: $$$OVER PRICED BLACK RIFLES$$$

I am not an economist but I think it's hard for many to define just what is 'price gouging' because it can mean something different to each person. I would suggest that it's possible for price gouging to coexist with free markets of supply and demand, they don't have to be one or the other. I like t...

Re: Gander Mtn and ammo

GM is my last resort because of the prices but they are a resource if I need something that FF or other locak shops don't have. The GM Rochester did price match on a gun purchase for me one time and I've used their gunsmith a couple times to my satisfaction. As a general rule though they are the mos...
