Re: New ugly gun...

I know this is going to "draw some fire", but what is the point of a shoulder fired 5.5" bbl weapon? Seems to be way to cumbersome to be a pistol, and worthless as a rifle. For close quarters where you want lower muzzle blast, concussion, and recoil yet still have improve accuracy ov...

Re: New ugly gun...

I have shot the 9mm and 45acp SMG's. They are super fun! They have almost zero muzzle climb and recoil.

The 10mm version should be pretty sweet! I will be at a media event in a week. I'll see if they have one to play with.

Re: Savage Hog Hunter 11

I have two in 308, they are nice shooters. I like the barrel length and weight. It is sort of a medium contour, not too heavy but has some weight to it. My only recommendation if you are putting a scope on it is to get the PRI scope base. With the Savage center feeds it is somewhat difficult to load...

Re: Bore Cleaning devices

So far I've liked my Otis Ripcord. It seems more durable than the boresnake. Time will tell. I will never by a boresnake viper again. The little plastic tip came off on my 22lr one and it became worthless. Definitely let us know though. My shotgun ones get dirty fast and don't wash up the best. For...

Re: Kahr CM9 disconnector getting deformed

Seems like it would be cheaper and easier for them to replace a part rather than removing the burs and grooves on the existing one. Don't they have any authorized gunsmiths to handle things like this rather than shipping it in? My last 3 warranty items went to Ahlmans. I was told by Remington that ...

Re: Kahr CM9 disconnector getting deformed

I have shot my CW9 a fair amount and have not had any trouble but have not looked real close.

Re: SOTA Arms...

Evan, did you forget the part where you were asked to bring it by the shop to check it out and then you didn't and continued to bash it. From what I hear, the new owner loves it and all his mags drop free. I'm not trying to make a big deal about my lower from a local manufacturer that you are affil...

Re: LaRue or Geissele

Is there a shop around here that has a bunch of AR triggers installed in demo "receivers" for you to try out? I know that Ruger has their Elite 451/452 in a demo unit, and Hiperfire has their Hipertrain demo units, but wondering if any shop has a bunch of other triggers set up for custome...

Re: LaRue or Geissele

ALG(Guissele) has a cheap single stage that I have tried at a few events. As I recall it was pretty nice. I'd defiantly a step up from mil spec.

Re: LaRue or Geissele

I see the Hiperfire is $185. I'm sure I can find many great triggers at higher prices, I was looking for a good trigger at around $100. I've never been happy with budget triggers. People always skimp on optics and triggers. If you are going to spend money spend it on something that matters, that's ...

Re: LaRue or Geissele

My vote is for Hyperfire, not on your list but a great trigger. Every AR I get in gets one. My favorite is the 24C. They are made locally too!

Re: SOTA Arms...

So a little update on this saga... The guy who bought them has been dragging his feet returning it. In the meantime the guy who took the other upper found it did not fit on his lower so he swapped with the other of the 3 which did fit. He built it out and the barrel alignment is so terrible he says...

Re: Shotgun fit for a woman

My wife (also left handed) loves her 20ga Browning Citori Micro Midas. It has a 13" length of pull. I believe you can buy a BPS Micro Midas that has shins to adjust the length of pull. I ended up getting a deal on a BPS Micro Midas 20ga. It has the shims and you get 50% off a full size stock i...

Re: Shotgun fit for a woman

Just throwing something out here, might be way off...but trying to help. Have you checked her eye dominance? You say "nothing looks right". If your fiancee happens to be cross eye dominate, it can look like the gun does not fit, as she will try to look/sight with her right eye. It may app...
