Re: People Who Left

Talk about some names from the past. Of course I haven't been active here for three years since I moved to the east side of Wisconsin. I was one of the people on here the first day, and occasionally I'll wonder what happened to some of the guys I used to see all the time. Jac714, HammAR, Macphisto, ...

Re: Glock 45??? Colt 45? Malt Liquer?

There is or at least was a .45 Glock Auto Pistol caliber that was made in Models G37, G38 and G39. I think the Glock numbering system is perfectly clear, they number the products as they make them. The original Glock, the G17 was the 17th product made my the Glock Manufacturing Company. Seems much c...

Re: County could build gun locker in courthouse lobby

Dakota county bans them in the parking lot, and in the City Hall next door and in the Library. I'm quite surprised that Hennepin doesn't. As bad as Ramsey was when the law was passed they have had lockers there for many years now.

Re: Bass Pro Shop buying Cabela's

I like Bass Pro and have found their prices to be comparable to what I can find locally if I can find it locally at all. This past July I was in a Bass Pro in Indiana and had no problems picking up Mini Mags for the same price I paid for them three years ago when I couldn't even find them anywhere a...

Re: Glock 80% Frame

I found a 22 G3 online and figured $610 shipped including FFL xfer and a $90 LWD barrel (to eliminate glock-bulge on .40 brass). Then I figured $136 lower, $90 for LWD barrel, $250 for a take-off slide (ebay) or $325 for LWD slide complete, $60 for Glock adjustable rear and HIVIZ fiber optic front ...

Re: Target Center Security (CCW)

I got wanded there for a Lynx playoff game, the "Security Officer" assumed the beeping was my phone and ignored it while missing the Taurus 650 right behind it. If I'd had the option of going to my car I probably would have taken it, but I had come down on the bus with my mother.

Re: Rep. Norton's gun control proposals emerge

What 7 day waiting period on the purchase of a handgun? If you do not have a PTC/PTP you can still by a hanggun/"assault weapon" from a dealer. You are subject to a 7 day waiting period (where you basically have to apply for a PTP) That's not a waiting period. That's a deadline for local ...

Re: Fobus Paddle Holster

I believe Fobus just finds a size close to a particular gun and starts marketing it for that gun whether it actually fits or not. I never had any issues with the retention on the weapon, I had problems with the retention on the paddle. I couldn't remove the damn thing from my belt without stripping ...

Re: Practical place to pattern shotgun?

Oakdale's patterning board is members only. I'm sure if you asked around here you could find a member to bring you in as their guest. At least they had one for members when I was last a member two years ago.

Re: Looking for class in WI

Usually when he comes out he arrives mid to late afternoon on a Friday. If the class is done then he can just come in and apply in Stillwater that day.

Looking for class in WI

With the recognition changes that came through last month my father in law lost the ability to legally carry in MN. He holds UT and WI permits but now needs to add a MN to the mix. Anyone know of any MN certified instructors in eastern Wisconsin? Oshkosh, Appleton, Fond du Lac preferred but anywhere...

Re: Reporting lost card

I thought there was a statutory $10 maximum for a replacement card. The one they always try to charge you with when you change your address.

Re: My glock jammed yesterday

Some specific guns have had problems with FTE while having a light on the front. IIRC those were generally subcompacts but you do hear occasionally of a full size that just won't work right. How many rounds through it that day before this happened?
