Re: What do you tell people?

During some conversation at Mayo this week, I was asked, kinda out of the blue, if I had a carry permit. I said yes and it went no farther. They probably just googled your name for some other reason, and saw that you are an instructor, and were interested. Hopefully there was no other reason for th...

Re: Do you think a criminal would mind waiting while I put...

So what kind of hearing protection do war fighters wear? My brother is a sniper scout in the Army, was over in Iraq last year and will go to Afghanistan next year. I asked him, says that they usually don't wear hearing protection unless they're shooting the .50 cal. I don't know if it's common, but...

Re: Taser parties

I find myself conflicted over whether the new "tasers for women" idea is a good one or not. It's probably not what we here would consider the ideal tool :D , but it may be helpful in some situations. The big point in this to me is that more people are willing to try to take care of and pr...

Re: NRA Instructor

OK, folks, step up if you want it to happen. If DonL and Ttousi find enough interest, I will talk to Bill's--if that's where it is decided to hold the class. I organized the class in May because I was interested, and I guess enough others were too. Let's see what we can do for a class early next ye...

Re: Invasion of Privacy - Don't say it never can happen.........

So (to risk a threadjack) in light of that assertion, is it acceptable for a company to fire people for having legally owned firearms, stored in privately owned cars in a legal manner, in a company parking lot? How about parked on the street? What about guns at your home? Those are dangerous, right...

Re: Usual time on city police providing permit?

Supposed to be no more than 10 days, but some places have been known to take longer. Where did you apply?

Re: Planning for future of forum

I believe that another option is to be a Amazon.com partner. You list products on your site, and if people use that link to buy, you get a cut.

Re: Ultramax ammo?

How is this a "good price" when yo can buy 500 rounds of Rem UMC in 9mm at Dick's for $69.80? Even if you don't shoot much, splitting 10 boxes with a buddy should be a non issue. Didn't see that one in the flyer, but sounds like a much better deal. I'll have to make a trip there this afte...

Ultramax ammo?

Anyone here used UltraMax ammo? Is it good, or at least better than Amerc? A new Dick's opened in Rochester, and they have what looks to be a good sale on it ($37.98 for a 250 pack of 9mm).
