Re: My carbine single shot

westhope wrote:What is your opinion of the Hick's Accurizer?

Haven't had a chance to play with it. Prior owner said it will shoot a 3 shot clover leaf at 100 yards with Hornady 410 gr Sub X bullets over 42 grns of RL 10X. I would think RL 10X powder wouldn't be a good choice.

They would replace with an equivalent scope and I would have within a week or so, or rebuild mine which could take many weeks. I was in no hurry, had them rebuil...

My carbine single shot

Ruger #3 Custom.jpg

My carbine single shot rifle is a Ruger #3 in 45-70.
16.5 inch barrel, Hicks Accurizer, Canjar adjustable set trigger and Leupold 1-4X scope.
Not what you usually think of when someone says the rifle is a carbine.

Re: Need a thumb safety for 1911?

samginko wrote:They are sending me a new stock thumb safety.

Really . . .
I would think for liability reasons the would want it back to verify problem, make sure there isn't any other issues and replace the manual safety themself.

Re: 45 ACP

westhope wrote:The only 1911 I could not get to shoot 200 gr SWC bullets was a 3 inch Springfield.

If you remember, I use to shoot a 3 inch Colt Defender in the BUG matches, ran exact same 200 gr SWC in that as my other 1911's.
