Being dressed is recommended. And you're not fully dressed until you're openly sporting the sidearm of your choice.

Re: LA Times have seen the enemy. And it is us. Gun owners

"You may object that the American armed forces, unlike those in Chile or Indonesia or Spain, have no precedent at all for interfering in American politics. That's true. But consider what happened in 1933 in Austria, where private citizens had increasingly been arming themselves and forming pri...

Re: Sig P210

I shot and almost bought a P210 a while back. What made me decide not to was the funky mag release and severe hammer bite. Looks like Sig has corrected those issues since then. If the new ones still shoot as accurately as the earlier ones, the awesomeness may now be almost unlimited.

Re: The long-term prospects for firearms freedom?

Re: the long term prospects of gun freedom, I think there are two conflicting dynamics in play, the first being the increasing urbanization of the population, and their increasing tendency to be government dependent and therefore vote Democrat/Liberal/Socialist, and the other being the perceived det...

Re: Guns hurt or kill 10,000 children in the U.S. / year: study

“We have weak laws, and for that we pay a dear cost.” No, we have a violent urban youth culture and for that we pay a dear cost. I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of those 10,000 deaths and injuries, a higher percentage of which they admitted happened to 18-20 year old "children",...

Re: Respectfully, I do not want 'Constitutional Carry' in MN :)

Calling Professor Joe Olson (author of the MCPPA) Calling Professor Joe Olson....What would you change about the law of significance??? They did a pretty good job with the law as written, but having said that, the only thing it accomplishes is to prevent law abiding citizens willing to get permits ...

Re: CA cops kill 13 yr old carrying toy guns

I spent tons of time in the 80's carrying toy guns around outside (wood and metal replicas of pistols, UZI's, lever guns and no orange muzzles) and nobody ever called the cops or the cops stop and draw down on me. Me too, but in the 70's. It's a different world now though, The American peop...

They can do that now? Maybe I should look into getting my cool replaced, but being in MN for the winter might take care of that for me.

Seriously though, good luck with it Pat.

Re: Incident at Bills Gun Shop

From personal experience I can say that it's easy to underestimate the danger of cylinder gap blow-by. I was shooting my Redhawk .44 magnum from a sandbag rest once to sight in the scope and had my off hand resting atop the sandbags about 6 inches from the side of the revolver. Ouch. No permanent da...

Re: Soucheray on Ray Widstrand.

Ray Widstrand seems to be headed to 'Life as a Vegetable' I assume he's pooping in a diaper and will be for the next 50 years. I assume you are speculating. And the proper term is "persistent vegetative state" and not vegetable. Do you have firsthand knowledge of his condition and permiss...

Re: Virginia: Gun Sales Rise, Crime Falls

It took almost 18 years of study to get that cigarette evidence. First they noticed the empiric correlation, then they had to take the time to establish the cause/effect. So, the answer to your question is..."not yet". Ok, so maybe we should stop saying that increasing guns decreases crim...

Re: I told you so.

T.S.A. officials respond that the random searches are “special needs” or “administrative searches” that are exempt from probable cause because they further the government’s need to prevent terrorist attacks. This is a very, very scary statement. Basically it says that our rights only matter when th...
