Re: Cartridge Identificaton

Thanks selurcspi!

They match the description. The blanks are the "tinned" case variety. Paper "bullet" and the bullets feel like they have powder in them.

Neat the things we can learn here.

Cartridge Identificaton

A friend gave me a bunch of old ammo from his brother that died. A lot of neat old rounds. Even a couple old rimfires. The cartridge I have not seen before is what appears to be a 30-06. It has a paper "bullet". The headstamp is "F A 07 6". There are 5 of them in a stripper clip....

They told me to pick it up in about 3 hours. I guess we don't have many computers / printers in the Owatonna area.

Anybody know if I can just plug a 386 chip in place of my 286?

Re: vote in new handgun survey

Sometimes hotlinks from forums get automatically rejected in the poll.

Will there be any indication that your vote was rejected if you use a "hotlink"?

Re: Hodgdon Titegroup

I just bought a pound to try for my 200 gr. SWC 45 ACP's today at Ahlman's ($14.99) today. Don't know when I'll get to trying it. I have been using Accurate #5.

Also Win. WLP primers at $20.99 / 1,000.

Re: State Fair Bull Escape

When I was young (about 50 years ago), we (my Father and his brothers) butchered at least one cow/steer and hog at my grandparent's farm each year. Each time it was just one shot from a 22 rifle behind the ear. (Usually the left ear, if I remember correctly.) All the families got together to butcher...

Re: Just Purchased a Ruger SP101 .357 mag for the wife

Have a gunsmith that knows revolver triggers go over hers. They can do wonders making it feel smoother and lighter. Probably cost about $75.

Re: Buying My First Revolver

See Cobb's NRA Women On Target on September 15 near Mankato.

I'll be there and several other forum members helping and could bring several revolvers to try if that would work for you too. Cost for that is minimal. Ammo, food, guns supplied.

The case being extracted appears to catch on the square edge of the SWC bullet on the next round in the magazine, not on the rim of that case.
