Are you sure you want a Glock 18? There seems to be a lot of missing going on....

Re: need some ideas..I am stumped

Yes, over the years I have loaded and shot a lot of rounds without a crimp. Why I have had 5 or 6 rounds in the last 800 to 1000 not seat in the chamber of the rifle, even thought they slide in out of a case gauge just bugs me. I am missing something, thats a fact. My 2¢... Speaking not as a reload...

Re: Rob Pincus Coming to the Cities

I can see the reasoning to having a factory ammo requirement, but good reloading practices can produce quality ammo. I agree 100%. However, in browsing many training web sites, I quite often see factory ammo as a requirement. At the range, virtually every time I see someone having Feeding/Extractin...

Re: Bald Eagle Winter Pistol Leaque

Cool. How late in the afternoon does it usually go? It kind of depends. They stop when they run out of people. You should be safe if you get there by 1:30pm. Sometimes they are still going past 2:30-3:00 (no promises). Since people can shoot ahead, or catch up if they are behind, there is a tendenc...

Re: Bald Eagle Winter Pistol Leaque

Looks like I have twenty buck and some ammo, so I think I'm gonna check this out tomorrow (1/12). Wrench or Ironbear, how many rounds will I need? Anybody else going? Yep, you'll need 48 rounds. Also highly recommended to have at least three magazines or two speed loaders. There is one stage where ...

Re: Bald Eagle Winter Pistol Leaque

Is it OK to pay the $20 and just come up and shoot a few matches, just to shoot? The $20 for ten weeks, is a pretty good deal. :D It is pretty informal. You don't even have to be there at 12 o'clock. They just cycle people through until they stop coming (usually by 1330-1400). As far as paying your...

Re: Recoil

In recoil the gun comes straight back at the shooter; ... The gun will come straight back if and only if the line of force (ie. the bore axis) coincides with the center of gravity of the gun. Since the bore axis is typically above the cg (when held in a "normal" position ), recoil will al...

Re: Recoil

I've often wondered technically what happens when a gun recoils. Does it start jumping before the bullet leaves the barrel? If so, how can the gun be accurate? The short answer is that the gun starts moving when the bullet starts moving. It goes back to the old Newton's Law... For every action ther...

The ABC's of Reloading.

The ABC's of Reloading edited by Bill Chevalier Got it for myself for Christmas. Very informative book. Well put together. I recommend it. An experienced reloader probably would have heard most of it before, but I thought for the newbie, it covered a lot of ground, very effectively. Even if you don'...

Re: Long gun verson of steel shoot.....POLL

I would be very interested in such an activity. I would however like to float a related idea. Like many others here (I think) I have never had any formal rifle training. I have shot small-bore rifle and regularly do Oakdale's Mil Gas-Gun league, but it has been, pick up a rifle and muddle my way thr...

Re: Why is calling it CCW bad?

That’s fine, that’s all you have to say. You could say "it has nothing to do with the actual words other than their being technically incorrect. But would you not agree that some people take issue with the actual words, other than the just fact that it’s not called that – thus the analogies an...
