Re: Trump calls for mental health & gun reforms after shooting

The wrong question is being asked. Instead of wondering how we can identify people who are about to commit horrible crimes we should be seeking ways to fix society so that we don't have people who are on the verge of committing horrible crimes. It's not an easy question and I'm sure there are no ea...

Re: Trump calls for mental health & gun reforms after shooting

So the post I was responding to was a call to action. What specifically are you proposing an individual person is to do? In light of my prior post... I have to ask... At what point do we think it would be appropriate to report someone? How many red flags/warning signs would you have to see before y...

Re: Trump calls for mental health & gun reforms after shooting

Let's see, in a CNN article, the Dayton shooter's ex-girlfriend says, He was bipolar, was fascinated by mass shootings, thought about hurting himself, thought about hurting others, had guns, and believed mentally ill people shouldn't have guns. She also broke up with him because he wanted her to hel...

Re: Special Gun Session Adjourned After Just Two Hours

Wonder what they did for 2hrs. Must have had lunch catered in........... It was a special session, where everyone was called back by the governor to consider legislation, that even he said wouldn't have prevented the most recent nutjob from getting guns. It was 2 hours of drama, just to get the ses...

Re: Isn't Amy Comey Bennet on Trump's short list?

The facts of the case are extraordinary. After a female college student accused her ex-boyfriend of groping her in her sleep, Purdue University conducted an investigation and adjudication so amateurish and biased that it’s frankly difficult to imagine that human adults could believe it was fair or ...

Re: FDLE has arrested former BSO deputy Scot Peterson.

Be interesting to see how this plays out with Supreme Court decisions, about there being no Duty to Protect for police officers.

Re: NY man facing illegal weapons charge after killing 2 burglar

Interesting that they refer to "burglary". I thought, generally, if there were people in the house it became "robbery".

Re: Why no gun ownership protection in MN state constitution?

I sometimes wonder if the Supreme Court shouldn't be made up of 7th Grade English teachers instead of lawyers. Since they read English and can look up what words mean wouldn't that be all that's needed? I would probably trust 7th grade English teachers of 100 years ago... but today's English teache...

Re: Trouble with an AR build - thoughts?

-      Second – more concerning problem.  After a couple of rounds, I had the bolt lock back, so solidly that the bolt would not move, the bolt release was not activated and could not be moved. Further, when I tried to push the takedown pins, they were really, really tight, everything was bound up....

Re: Anti-gun laws take hits in two states from three courts

That "win" against NY's SAFE act was on a technicality, not on the merits. As I understand it... the technicality is that the AG's office got told it can't go on a witch hunt and prosecute cases that it has no legal authority to prosecute... which seems a pretty good "win", in g...
