Re: .22 LR case head separation

Unclear as to how old, but they came directly out of a 333rd Winchester bulk box. Other than the blackening of the split one, the case heads look pretty good. I think the pictures didn't have good lighting and picked up some compression artifacts when I enlarged them. Hard to get decent macro photos...

Re: .22 LR case head separation

Played with the bolt and trigger. The bolt appears fully closed about 1/3 of the way through the downward motion. After about the 1/2 way point, the bolt "snaps" towards the fully close position. Pulling the trigger in the first 1/3 ends up just not engaging the sear and doing nothing. Onl...

.22 LR case head separation

Had a case head separate on a .22 today. Never seen that before. Split case on left. Same case on top right. Another, non-separated one for reference, on bottom right. Son got his cheek sprayed. Next round in magazine blackened. No indication of previous squib (steel is nice feedback). Bore was clea...

Virginia Sheriff indicted on bribery charges

Appears to be mainly an attempt to game the Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (LEOSA) and, in one case, to get rights restored. The three names given with locations, are all cities in some of the bluest counties in Virginia. https://www.insidenova.com/headlines/culpeper-county-sheriff-j...

I need to find a blued one one of these days- nothing says character like an honestly worn bluing!

A Tanfoglio in .41 AE would be a properly, eccentric choice in .41! ;) 8-)

Re: Canada mulls private contractors to seize firearms

So: if this comes to pass Canadian gun owners might expect to see the equivalent of Blackwater or bounty hunters showing up in full tactical-response mode. Who will also have a profit motive to seize collect the firearms, regardless of how recalcitrant the gun owner might be. What could possibly go...

If they caught the shooters....

How much would you pay to watch a cage match between the shooters and the women's hockey team!? I think this is a sport American's are ready for.

NY Dems to pass new gun laws in response to Supreme Court ru

Went to a gun rights rally a few years back; and there was this Hawaiian-shirt crowd that I wish would have availed themselves of some basic training opportunities. Lot of leg muzzling going in, and far too much "fondleing"!

Re: Appraisal of Mauser C96 "Broomhandle"

Just out of idle curiosity, I wonder why having outside-the-handle magazine pistols never caught on more widely. Okay, so not as easy to holster; but people with smaller hands might appreciate being able to shoot larger calibers without grip difficulty. A long time ago, I read an article on the dev...
