Re: Replacement Shotgun Barrel for 870

So, are these statements correct? - rifling is required for a sabot slug to get it to shed the sabot halves yes, sort of, the rifling will induce rotation, enhancing stability. sabot will shed faster when spinning - rifling will improve accuracy for any slug, but isn't necessary for non-sabot slugs...

Re: suggestions for de-cosmoline-ing

There are certainly many different recipes for cosmoline, however it is basically heavy grease (like axle grease) mixed with hot wax, Russian mixture was 50-50 (generally  ). Parts are dipped while mixture is hot, allowed to cool and setup. Depending on ratios it can stay gooey and slimy or get...

Re: Schmidt Rubin K31 Carbine

I'll probably get one by the end of the year myself. I guess guys have had some luck taking the buttplates off and seeing who the rifle was originally issue to and making contact with them via e-mail. The stories of accuracy have been very impressive. Did you get a walnut or beech one? Mine is a be...

The ammo I have found available falls right in between our .308 and .30-06 Like most European rifles it has a short length of pull. Once you get used to the feel it s...

Re: Current Minnesota State Park Rules?

I always find this statement from the MN DPS site interesting; Please note that the permit issued by your state does not supersede Minnesota’s laws or regulations. Re: Current Minnesota State Park Rules?

From Louisiana State Police website Reciprocity Pursuant to R.S. 40:1379.3(T)(1) a valid permit in another state is valid in Louisiana if the issuing state honors concealed handgun permits issued by Louisiana. And since we honor Louisiana...... OUT OF STATE PERMITS VALID IN MINNESOTA Minnesota laws ...
