U.S. v Rock Island Armory

U.S. v Rock Island Armory In the coming lawsuit(s) against the NFA registry for suppressors, short-barreled guns and AOWs, I fully expect this rather unknown case to be cited: U.S v Rock Island Armory, (1991) from the Central District of Illinois(!). In sum, since enactment of 18 U.S.C. § 922(o), t...

Re: GOA-Backed Language Passes House, Removes Suppressors from N

Amazing, isn't it, how all the organizations except the Dorrs' are screwing over gun owners, and yet the Dorr brothers never actually do anything?

I did not remember that. I do remember standing in Bill's Gun Shop buying a Colt HBAR when one of the houses passed it, I think it was the Senate.

It passed with 56 votes.

Re: NFA Tax Repeal Advances in “One Big Beautiful Bill”

While I agree that it has nothing to do with a budget reconciliation bill I don't agree that repealing the NFA tax on silencers and short has nothing to do with budget reconciliation. It is a tax. It was defined as a tax in the statute and has been declared to be a tax by SCOTUS. That the Parliamen...

Re: Wal says Minnesota should reconsider allowing guns at State

If they won't have actual metal detectors and x-raying baggage like they do at the Hennepin County Government Center in downtown Minneapolis, it will be security theater. They didn't have metal detectors at HCGC that first year. Remember Susan Berkovitz? https://news.minnesota.publicrad...

Re: Wal says Minnesota should reconsider allowing guns at State

I think we should reconsider guns at the capital.

Perhaps it's time to mandate carry at the capital?

We Answer Your Questions About Gutting The NFA

They explain how removing the tax also removes the reporting requirements.

To wit, the language applies the tax and reporting requirements to firearms.

Their change removes suppressors and SBRs and SBSs from the category of firearms.
