Re: Help identifying old revolver.

Looking at the cylinder release, my guess is that it is a Smith & Wesson as well. A way to rule out Colt is the direction of rotation of the cylinder as Colt revolvers rotate clockwise. Careful with over-generizations. Recent model Colt revolvers, yes. Old Colt revolvers, no: 1889 Navy, Officer...

Re: Groupon Is Done With All Gun Deals

While there may be a liberal aspect to their new direction it could be a publicity stunt. Look at all the free publicity they got out of this. I don't condone their policy change, just don't think that this kind of posturing is completely anti-gun. Cheap and opportunistic? Hell yes.

Re: Any pics from the Capitol rally?

What's inportant is that the event happened, and that people showed up at it. That is what the politicos have to figure into their decisions. People turned out because they cared. Heather can sit at home by a fireplace all she wants. She isn't going to influence people the same way that those who mo...

Re: Need Recommendation .38 Light Load

That's great that your wife shoots. I wish my wife would. Tried to get her to a Woman On Target event, but she just isn't interested. Consider yourself fortunate. ;)

Re: Need Recommendation .38 Light Load

Even using the lightest load listed for Universal Clays in my 642, I don't enjoy shooting them. It's a great gun to carry, but it's just too light to shoot very much for fun. So I practice with light loads, then a few carry loads and that's all for that gun. My 1911 with IDPA loads is much more comf...

Re: Buying used equipment

In the first picture the press on the left looks like a Pacific shotgun reloading press from the late 60s to early 70s. Probably a DL-155 like mine. Note the automatic primer feed on its left. Note also that the clear plastic powder and shot reservoirs are missing. They might be in another box of st...

Re: Obama and Guns - The Synopsis of the Speech

Don't ever mention to your doctor you have guns or even like guns! Don't even bring up the subject!! If you Get a anti gun wacko doctor you could be in one big mess!! I'm a doctor and I agree with this. Furthermore, if asked, decline to answer. To quote Nancy Reagan, "Just say NO." ;)

Re: Lock N Load AP Shell Plate .308/.45 question

I bought a new Lock n Load AP from John Boy at Gun Stop for Christmas to load .45 ACP and I'm still waiting for the #45 shellplate. Lots of things are on back order lately. :x

Re: Burnsville Practical Pistol Winter League - 2013

How much ammunition is needed? At the Steel Shoots there are 5 targets, shot four times, and four couses of fire = 80 shots (not counting the MvM). Benny recommends bringing lots more, but it's at least a point of reference. What is the reference ammo amount for the Winter Pistol League orientation?
