Re: CONTACT GOV DAYTON RE Sign Suppressor Bill

Keep polite but firm pressure on the Governor. They count every contact. You can call early and often. E-mail, postcard, etc. It all gets counted. Don't waste time writing a 3page booklet.

Re: North Dakota Reciprocity WILL be fixed

During the House hearings the Assistant Commissioner of the DPS stated TWICE that deleting "substantial" would cause North Dakota advanced permit and other states (not identified) to be recognized by Minnesota. The Agency knows the Legislature wants this fixed fast. I think they will not d...

SF 878 passes both Houses.

The Senate version of SF 878 contains the Senate language. The House version contains the House language. After some procedural dance steps both will be sent to a Conference Committee for harmonization into a single bill. That bill (called the Conference Report) goes back to the Senate, then the Hou...

Re: Washington Background Ground checks wins big

Either the NRA FU'ed really bad by not spending $5 million on TV ads. Or, . . . they figure they can milk gun owners for a decade as they "fight" off these proposals everywhere. After 9 years on the NRA Board, I believe either could be true.

Re: New resident with a few questions

Minn. Stat. sec. 624.714, subd. 16 treats a permit from a recognized state AS IF IT IS a Minnesota permit.

The rules are the same, guys.

A quote to remember. Thanks, Chief. Police shot and killed a man Thursday morning (8-28-2014) on St. Paul’s West Side in a confrontation that one witness said involved the suspect throwing rocks, punching an officer and charging at the cops. The shooting occurred about 6:20 a.m. near Plato Boulevard...

Re: 1-4/5/6x Optics Owners Needed

Ever since I had a Steyer USR with the factory 1.5x scope, I've been putting low-power scopes on my serious use rifles. I have a bunch of older Leopold 2x7 Veri-X1 scopes (inexpensive at gun shows). I set 'em on 2 and go up to 200 meters. I've just bought a Millett 1x4 for the illuminated reticle. I...

Re: 2 teens killed after allegedly breaking into home;

Proves the value of saying:
1. I acted in self-defense.
2. I do not consent to any searches of myself or my property.
3. I want a lawyer before I say anything more.
THEN, . . . SHUT THE F**K UP!

Re: GOCRA OK with Gun Restrictions Bill

I've been lobbying for GOCRA for more than 25 years. Much of what we do is killing bad ideas before they become bills and kill bad bills before hearing. Often there is (cannot be) publication about this. If we educate a Legislator and get him to cooperate there is no gain to publically declaring his...

Re: Cities object to state preemption of firearms ordinances.

Government is different in two ways. First, that they can require me to enter the business, and second that their using my tax money to pay for it. This is exactly why the MCPPA expressly prohibits political subdivisions from "limit[ing] the exercise of a permit to carry." 471.633 removes...

Re: Mitch Berg: The Next Useless Wave of Gun Control in MN

I'll just point out for the hunters and trap shooters out there that the last 3 school shootings were ALL committed using a S-H-O-T-G-U-N.
The last shooter's gun had 3 rounds. That's only one shot more that a $20,000 o/u Perazzi. No gun owners is safe anymore.

Re: Shooting with non-dominant eye

I shoot handguns right-handed with the sights in front of my left eye.

I shoot long-guns left-handed. I even have left-handed bolt guns.

No problems.
