Re: Just got a Remington 700 in .338 lapua

Just got off the phone with DPMS, they told be just let them handle it. They do this a lot and have a lot of tricks. I got no lectures about reloads and they were happy that I am fine. They had a good point in that was most gunsmiths see maybe two or three ARs with this type of problem ever, so you...

Re: FS: CCI #400 Small Rifle Primers

It's been pointed out to me that Cabela's currently has these on sale for $24.99/1000. In the spirit of good capitalist competitiveness, I will sell the whole lot of 11,000 primers for $250 cash. That's about $45 less than the Cabela's price after sales tax. Or, $130/5000. Those are my bottom line p...

Re: ultrasonic cleaning or tumbler?

Wet tumbling with stainless media beats dry tumbling or ultrasonic by a long shot. No dust, no mess, and any brass you put in comes out looking like brand new from the factory. Cleans inside cases and primer pockets shiny. I've not turned my Dillon tumbler on a single time since getting the stainles...

Re: Just got a Remington 700 in .338 lapua

So, do you have any idea what happened? The chrono reading on the last shot is pretty meaningless if the bolt was not fully in battery, but if it were me, I'd be wondering why that second to last round measured a full 700 fps slower than the others.

Re: Just got a Remington 700 in .338 lapua

OAL:do you guys agree with this. Initially, seat the bullet deliberatley too far out. Place in chamber and close and lock bolt. Remove round. You will see some righteous rifling marks. This process will have seated bullet farther into case. This a crude starting point. Then, place this round into s...

Re: Glasses.......

Front sight should be clear and thus target will necessarily be blurry. Even a perfect human eye cannot focus on 2 separate planes at the same time. Sounds like using the readers will get you going the right direction.

Re: Which Powder Dispenser/Scale combo to get?

To sum up quickly, ANY electronic scale with a precision of .01 gram or 0.1 grain is JUNK!! Don't buy it!! Doesn't matter how much it costs. Only scales that are worth anything are jeweler's scales that measure to at least .005 gram, and better yet, .001 gram. The above statement is only true if yo...

Re: Need radio communication help.

I've shot 5 or 6 Long-Range and Palma matches at GRRC's 1k line, as well as plenty of casual 1000 yard practice shooting and hand-held FRS radios have always worked fine for communication between line and pits.
