Re: newb's 1st batch of .40 s&w

Make smaller test batches in the future.....could save you a lot of time with the kinetic bullet puller! Always do a stair step work up so you can exact the best accuracy.....

Re: newb's 1st batch of .40 s&w

I trust you did a stair step approach to loading? Meaning that you loaded 10 rds of several charge wts........ to check for function? Accuracy? Safety?

Re: Where's the Ammo Hiding?

Interesting... I wonder what happened to all the equipment at the old TC Arsenal in Anoka? Anybody know what kind of license would be required to operate an ammunition plant? They still make it. Just not nearly as much. Slick Willy closed most of the plants and most equipment was taken to Lake City...

Re: Power Pistol for .38 sp

well some of us had ten K of primers in sept. But teaching people has burned almost all of that up. I am down to under a couple hundred loaded rounds left with NO primers left to replenish. Something else is up. 1994 was nothing like this. They were available just not plentiful. Well, then perhaps ...

Re: Power Pistol for .38 sp

Dont shoot the messenger......It is hard for the new to reloading to believe......and that is tough pill to swallow......cause they want to churn out ammo......Don't blame them one bit....I hate clean brass....much rather have loaded ammo. But, we are talking REALITY not FANTASY. Federal 150's have ...

Re: Broke my Dillon

Man, That is strange no pressure place for a fracture of the casting. Looks you just need a new frame and you would be good to go. But, Dillon are good people so you should be up and running soon.....fingers crossed! I have seen the crank break on the back side away from the operator (the thing that...

Re: Power Pistol for .38 sp

Well, either you get or you don't. Simply put the demand for ammo is high, DUH, and where do the components come from? DUH the production lines.....same place components do. You can blame Barry, but this was going on before he election just cause you do not want to believe it is your and other peopl...

Re: Where's the Ammo Hiding?

At 2 p.m. today (4/15/09), Mills Fleet Farm in Lakeville had a pretty good amount of the PMC Bronze .223 on the shelf for $.7.99 a box of 20. I know its Korean made and was hesitent to buy any. I picked up 2 boxes to try. Left the rest for others. No other .223 on the shelf. No brass pistol ammo ei...

Re: Primers are getting ridiculous

I'm just in the process of getting started with reloading, and by pure luck the first thing I bought was primers. So anyway, those of you who've been reloading since they invented brass: has components ever in your memory been this hard to get? Pat, Despite what some other people think.....in 94 is...

Re: Steel Shoot Update

Rules that make the most sense to preserve the shooting range over time. Go look at most private clubs...they are shot to hell by the members.....pretty sad state of affairs.
FMJ tend to bounce off stuff......intended or not......Start reloading soft point bullets........

Re: Tumble First or DePrime First?

Lots of options...... #1 If you deprime first here are some thoughts. First use a universal decapper die as there is potential that cruddy brass could imbed crap in your die wall and wreck them. A pass thru a universal decapper is a must if you are going to use a liquid method ie US, Cermamic media,...

Re: A2 shooting questions

First and last thought when shooting iron sights "Front Sight" Perhaps you should hit up one of the service rifle clinics at Gopher, North Star, or Elk River? Get help from shooters.....

Re: Brass: Clean or clean enough?

Hey I answered the OP's post, and I was attacked in earlier resonses to the OP's post. I did nothing to deserve the smart ass remarks from Dean, Strad, EGJ in regards this post. So, think again people! Drivel is not fine when is just a freaking wasted post to run up post counts, IMHO.

Re: Brass: Clean or clean enough?

The youngsters like to take cheap shots! And, they have a lot to learn. Just as we all do, but hey if they want to be poster children for smart ass morons go for it. They may well be suited for just that. And, then we have the ungreatful people that are backstabbing gotta love them! Just makes it ha...
