Other than trafficking or possibly large growing operations, aren't the feds 100% dependent on state and local law enforcement to actually catch marijuana users and forward the cases to federal jurisdiction? I can't imagine the FBI or DEA having the resources to police simple use around the country...

There are already several cases litigating this particular issue in 18 USC 922 - at least one of which came down striking the law - and more are awaiting a decision. His case probably won't be the deciding case.
