Re: Things that make you go GRRR...

I had the misfortune to listen in on a political solicitation call from the DFL endorsed candidate for the state House of Representatives (district 58A) yesterday. I sat politely by, ignoring her drivel, until she brought up "Gun Safety". When she mentioned that the majority of gun sales ...

Re: Amazon charities

yukonjasper wrote:My question is, how do you know your funds actually make it to your selected charity? Is there a way to trace or audit the donation?

You'd have to ask Amazon. We get paid quarterly by them without fail.

Re: Amazon charities

This is the email I received. It specifically says Minnesota Gun Owners Support Fund. Linksep's post refers to "Gun Owners Foundation". Numbers are significantly different. "This is your quarterly AmazonSmile donation notification. Your charity, Minnesota Gun Owners Support Fund, rec...

Re: Permit to transfer?

gun_fan111v2 wrote:That makes sense. I heard about some stores doing walk-ins 15 years ago, w/o the person having a permit to buy. Would they be using this section back then?

I don't know if the for is the same, but 624.7132 dates from 1977 - so probably something similar...

Re: Permit to transfer?

As it was explained to me, that portion is meant for transfers between FFLs or from private party to an FFL for purchases. I can't state that unreservedly but that is what came down to us from those most high when such forms began to show up at the store in place of the more usual permit to purchas...

Re: Minnesota Gun Owners for Safety

Minnesota Gun Owners for Safety Seems to be one of those anti gun things passing off as pro gun, anyone have any info? This group was created by the anti-gun Giffords organization - they are gun owners who are in support of whatever gun control measures Giffords put in front of them. They had a big...

Re: Attorney Referrals

Good to know Burris is no longer available. I've been carrying his card around taped to the back of my Permit card. I'll make note of the others listed here. Any of them have stronger actual defense record in actual guns being used in personal defense situations? Jim and Blair are probably the two ...

Re: Oakdale Gun Club "OGC" Closure

That makes it sound like the board spends the club's money with a wink and nudge. Can any member see the actual budget? Any member of the club can ask to see the financial records. When I was a member (prior to being a board member), I made a request to the Treasurer (Bill, even back then) and he s...

Re: Oakdale Gun Club "OGC" Closure

They took out a massive loan that they are still paying on The loan was well within the CLub's ability to manage through free cash flow at the time -- I'm not sure how that's evolved since I left the board. The loan and project were discussed in detail at a special member meeting of the club and we...
