Re: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA v. TAMORI MORGAN

As I said in the other thread, I wouldn't get too excited about this one. I don't think it will stand up on appeal.

Re: District Court ruling on machine guns.

I wouldn't get too excited about this - I'd expect an appeal and don't give that appeal very good odds.

This is also a federal district court opinion so it is does not create precedent - and the judge didn't vacate the law (i.e. strike it down nationwide) - they just dismissed the case.

Re: 2024 Candidate Scorecards

I made the comment in the most recent gun club newsletter that the only people who will be talking about "gun violence' this November will be the Democrats. I also said that the GOP is likely going to be silent regarding its position on private ownership of firearms because taking a strong 2A ...

Re: Return of Ranb

You reap what you sow. I have not demanded anything of you. You have demanded to be seen as the 2nd coming of the NRA. I just asked if you were coming to lunch. 2nd coming of the NRA? No. The NRA sucks when it comes to pushing for pro-gun bills. They never gave me the time of day when I asked for a...

Re: GOA Case Granted By The Supreme Court

Misleading headline by GOA here -- the case was vacated and sent back to 2nd circuit for further proceedings in light of Rahimi.

SCOTUS has yet to hear this case on the merits.

Re: State's 'Ghost Gun' Law heard by MN Supreme Court

Jackpine Savage wrote:I'll be honest, I haven't paid much attention to the MN Supremes lately. How woke/stupid are they? Can they make a rational decision?

When will the ruling come down?

18 years of DFL appointments, no GOP justices presently. They're horrible on 2A issues.

Re: State's 'Ghost Gun' Law heard by MN Supreme Court

"This doesn't seem vague to me. The Minnesota statute, as written, applies only to short-barreled rifles and shotguns."

We agree with you - but the MN Court of Appeals and several district courts in MN have taken a different approach in their decisions.

Re: Binary trigger ban

What, exactly, is their definition of "binary trigger." The definition is in the link to the bill above - but the specific language used is: (3) a device that allows a firearm to shoot one shot on the pull of the trigger and a second shot on the release of the trigger without requiring a ...

Re: Binary trigger ban

The binary trigger ban was crammed into an omnibus bill and passed last night. I remember the first time Shall issue was passed. It was thrown out because it wasn't 'germane' to the rest of the bill. What are the odds of getting this thrown out in a similar fashion? Or for the general cluster f* of...
