Re: Occasional Site problem

I have a new VPS set up with linode and it's awesome! I'm moving all my other sites there to make sure it all works right and then I'll move the forum eventually. Should solve all these performance issues and I won't have to move it again... if it outgrows you can just have your VPS resized :) I sho...

Re: Occasional Site problem

I'm still working on this. The current hosting is perfect except they don't allow enough database connections and no matter what I do we always hit the limit. I'm testing out some VPS hosting which is a little more expensive but I'm really sick of all the stupid crap that comes with shared hosting....

Re: getting "Connection timed out" often

We're currently on shared hosting so it goes down occasionally. I'm testing out better hosting now.

yes, it's stupid. There is some way I can do it for everybody directly in the DB but I have to figure it out again.

DoS attack

That would be cool if we were important enough for someone to do that

I'll have a chat with the web hosting company tomorrow.

Re: Occasional Site problem

No, that's a problem with the web hosting. I will check into it. Do anyone know approximately how long the problem lasts before they can view the forum again?

Just so everybody knows I sent that to EVERY registered user. I was not singling anyone out, I should have noted that.

Any opinions on the Savage Edge?

I have been wanting to get a .308 rifle for some time and, although I've always wanted something "nice", I'm just not going to be able to afford it in the foreseeable future. With a scope a brand new one costs about $300... they are literally almost the cheapest new gun I can find but they...

Re: Have you checked your hunting zone yet?

I've never been deer hunting before but was considering it this year but I don't really understand how the zones and lottery areas work. If I understand it right you can buy a statewide "A" license and apply for a lottery area and if you don't win the lottery you can still hunt in any non-...

Re: WMA's, question for you hunters

I grouse hunt in the Mille Lacs WMA fairly often. Not sure where in Washington County you are but it's about 2 hours from Cottage Grove. I don't know if it's the greatest place to hunt but it's huge so you don't normally run into a lot of people once you get a little bit away from whatever access yo...
