Re: Supreme Court to consider whether wifebeaters can own guns

All a woman has to do is simply state, “I’m afraid…” and nothing more. What if she's afraid of black men on the street? Can she get a restraining order against them too? Need to first understand what an “order for protection” is first. Then you need to have a better grasp of VAWA. Then you’ll look ...

Re: Limits to Castle Doctrine

Seems people are forgetting that the right to self defense is from the position of a victim, and that the “wrong-doer” has to “take them as they are….” IE…. As a “healthy and active white male” my level of threshold is significantly different than say my daughter or my wife… That position changed th...

Re: Supreme Court to consider whether wifebeaters can own guns

Seems reasonable to me. If the restraining order ends or the person goes to trial and is found not guilty, they can get their guns back. But if you're considered an active risk by the courts, losing access to your guns seems like a pretty smart call. Getting a restraining order approved isn't a mat...

Re: Supreme Court to consider whether wifebeaters can own guns

https://www.npr.org/2023/06/30/1185371815/supreme-court-domestic-abuse-guns The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday agreed to hear a case that could allow people who are found to pose a credible threat of violence against their partner or child to retain the right to own and use guns. At issue is a 1994 a...

Re: Hunting rufle trigger weight

I set mine to 2 1/2 lbs.

I use a special gauge that’s highly technical and takes years of training under a watchful and skilled instructor before you’re allowed to use it alone.

Re: Short range backstop or berm options

NRA, MN DNR and the us army all have some pretty decent range designs available online if your Google Fu is good.

Anything I've looked a includes printing a Google map out to PDF format and then putting a range safety fan on it. CAD software is nice for that.

Sure ya can. It'll just take you longer. Our best fishing pond was 2 acres and 18’ deep, lol. Something that big would change my tactics. It's still a lot cheaper than you think. Re: Short range backstop or berm options

Do they give grants for ponds? I've always wanted to have a pond and would love to be able to afford one! Ziegler Cat rents mini excavators for very reasonable rates. Hehehehehehe Fun to operate too. It can be had for $250 a weekend. Rather powerful little item too. Got it from my local bobcat deal...

Re: Short range backstop or berm options

seen backstops made from Cattle feeders made of wood and fronted with dirt. Stack like 4 on top of themselves. Allows for less dirt needed. Likewise, you could use 4X4 or 6x6 post set at 4-6 foot widths, putting 2X8 up at 45* angle and spacing 12" apart. Front with 24-30" of dirt at thinne...
