Most people never shoot anything at distances where ,308 vs 6.5 matter.

And anyone acting like 400 yards is to far for a deer with .308 and the right bullet probably hasn't killed much of anything.

If you don't chrono, you're not "reloading" you're "guessing."

You, sir, now have the complete killing machine.

No pressure, but it hasn't missed an animal yet.......

Yup. The rail was under 10 bucks delivered on amazon. It mounts nicely, and I can switch it on with my pistol-grip hand easily.

He's got the right mount already.

I can say that with 100% certainty. ;)

If it was close to following you home stock, don't shoot one with a laser.

It makes it more awesomer

Do you want the Zeiss that was on it? Is a Conquest 3-9, and it doesn't suck.

I would sell it to you for less than the 399 you're looking at, and the quality isn't even close.

I have no desire to spend my free time learning how to adapt to something I don't really need.

I was simply hoping it would be an "OMG" moment like when I tried an Aimpoint.

Oh, and don't go low-power variable. I have a few, love them for what they are, but they are not great hunting scopes.

Compare the exit pupil at the same power between a 3-9 and the 1-8.

It's a bullet steering device. For your use, precise tracking isn't a huge issue, holding zero is. Good glass with good coatings is better when it matters: dawn and dusk. I personally had a Zeiss 3-9x40 on a Tikka 308 and it was perfect. Either of the scopes you mentioned will do the job well, I'd g...

Mossberg Shockwave

So, I got one and mounted a green Crimson Trace laser on it.

It may be almost completely useless, but it is also amazingly fun.

That is all.

Well, I tried a Vortex Venom on my Canik TP9TSFX and just took it off. The increase in long-range accuracy wasn't enough for me when weighed against the size, Mr Murphy potential, and slight loss (for me) in first shot speed. It was definitely NOT the "OMG, technology is awesome!" moment t...

Re: PSA AR10 lower question

I have a lower - admittedly a low cost PSA Blem Lower I was planning to put whatever I bought onto - maybe that wouldn't be an good idea. I have an MBT that I was going to install in my Bushmaster but found the trigger already installed was atypical, so, not wanting to screw anything up, I left it ...
