Looking for an LCR in 357 magnum. Not 38sp.

Looked at local GS, called around, none to be found! PM me if you can help me out. Thanks.

Re: looking for advice on 3" 1911

If you get a Kimber, throw away the factory mag. Buy a Kim-Pro mag instead. I do not know why Kimber does not put Kim-Pro mags with all their guns. Their factory mags are crap and part of the bad rap the Ultra's get (no excuse, but still...). Some might work, but mine did not and I know other people...

Re: Sig P290RS or Kimber Solo?

The solo doesn't have a DAO trigger. Kimber lists it as a single action, striker fired design. I put about 200 rounds through one. The pull and reset are long for a SA trigger, but nowhere near as long as most DA triggers. Break is as smooooth as glass. I personally carry a 1911 which is what draws ...

Re: 40 or 45 that is the quedtion I ask of thee....

A lot of consternation really goes into calibers, that probably doesn't need to. But you really do need to check 'em out for yourself because you may prefer one over the other after experiencing them. I favor .45 ACP and 9mm, though I do own a .40 S&W and always will own at least one of 'em. I'v...

Re: .380 Makarov quesiton

I have always wanted one of these too - probably in .380 since I don't want to add another caliber to keep track of. Additionally, 9mmMak and .380 are almost identical ballistically, and you can readily find 'premium' .380 that will outpace 9mm Mak. From what I have heard, these guns are scary durab...

Re: Best Compact 9mm Pistols for Carry

How come nobody has mentioned the new Kimber 9mm? http://www.kimberamerica.com/solo Personally, I love the Kimber Solo. HOWEVER, there are some major early production flaws with them and Kimber has halted production while they work them out. Mostly failure to extract, though the magazine latch has ...

Re: XDM 5.25 Competition

The XDms had some design input from Springfield and US engineers. But they are made in the same Croatian factories as the other XDs/HS2000s.

Re: have any of you SEEN one of those Ruger SR1911's?

Yeah $749 isn't bad. Even online through the typically "cheaper" channels they're all in that ballpark.

Re: CZ 75 P-01 - Multiple Failures to Feed

Yeah, hitting up Wolff's for new springs is probably a good idea - especially if multiple mags are causing the issue. May be a weak recoil spring... It should last more than 2k rounds (they've done 15k torture tests on the P-01 before), but you never really know what the previous owner did with it. ...

Re: New 1911 grips

I love VZ grips. The thumb recess is really helpful at making magazine switches more comfortable.

The quality is top notch, but some models do have very 'aggressive' texturing - which I like but some do not.

Re: Kimber Solo...

I shot one quite a bit, probably 150ish rounds through it myself in two separate sessions at my father-in-law's. I really like the recoil characteristics and the feel of the gun. I shoot the Solo much much better than I shoot the Kahr PM9. I also found the Solo's rounded edges to be MUCH better for ...

Re: USFA "Judge"

I think it looks better than the Taurus. But that isn't saying much.

These types of guns might be worth more in snake country, but I've never been sold on them for self defense after seeing the Box of Truth results: http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/bot41_2.htm.
