Philando Castile case. Officer charged

It is harder for young people to afford car insurance because the rate is higher due to limited experience. I would think same would translate to the liability insurance of officers just starting their careers... Doctors face the same thing when they start out. I believe most of them have to pay th...

Carry Permit

The law is clear. They have 30 days to deny your application, IN WRITING, or your permit is considered to be issued. The permit, itself, is an intangible thing, and the card you get is merely a representation of your permit. I suggest that my students politely call the sheriff's office and remind th...

Concealed EDC for limp-wristed, weak-fingered, new shooter?

But, for me, the Glock 42 is like having a gorgeous girlfriend who won't put out. Very frustrating. Despite how everyone raves about Glocks being incredibly reliable guns that are not picky about ammo, I've experienced the opposite with the 42. Constant stove pipes and failure of the magazine to fe...

Re: Police volley of lead produces one hit

Civilian is derived from the phrase "civil law". It literally means "civil law-ian". It identifies the set of laws a person is subject to. The opposite in this context is military law, which in modern times is the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). Any person who is not su...

Police volley of lead produces one hit

Police are citizens. They are civilians. They are no different in any way from any other member of the population. They just happen to work for a political subdivision. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It is acceptable to compare "police" and "civilians" in this context. My op...

Legal question regarding work weapons policy.

"Your services are no longer required." "You're fired." Pretty much all they need say. If you think you were wrongly terminated, it's up to you to prove it. At least that's how I think it works. I assumed, as previously stated the reason one would be fired would be violation of c...

Movie: American Sniper

My suggestion:

Stop analyzing every frame of the movie. It's a movie!

If you want to criticize, let's talk about fake babies.

Homeowner Shoots Intruder In Polk County (WI)

Imagine yourself explaining to the police, or your attorney, how you decided to shoot someone because they did $XXXX of property damage to your window.

Am I being too obtuse here?

Homeowner Shoots Intruder In Polk County (WI)

My standard response is: it depends.

As the law stands, someone who enters your home without permission and only damages property upon entry, is NOT committing a felony.

Take a permit class, talk you your instructor, retain a criminal attorney.... Discuss this with them.
