Re: Steel Shoots in 2019

The increase in bullet splash will cause problems if PCC were added to the comp. With your average 9mm doing 1100fps out of a nominal 5 inch barrel, you can expect mv to increase by 1.9% per extra inch of barrel, or approximately 200 fps in a 16 inc barrel. Thi means targets would been to start the...

Re: Help me to make my dream come truth. 1911 in .45

If you are looking for a 1911 will shoot well, and continue to shoot well for a long time... look at what the USPSA/IPSC guys are buying.... Here's a hint... it's not Les Baer, or wilson. those are pretty guns for people who like to look at their 1911... then put it back in the safe. On the lower en...

Re: J frames

I definitely have practiced more “precision” shots with the 642 by staging the trigger as others have described here. That is good advice. However from a practical defensive standpoint, I doubt that staging the trigger would be an option in a real defensive scenario. Sent from my iPhone using Tapat...

No offense meant here, but I have neither the time nor the energy to keep track of the political stance of various companies.... I'll leave you guys to man the outrage factory... I got **** to do. Wait, political stance? I thought this thread was about ice cream? https://i.kym-cdn.com/p...

Re: Gun store owners, please train your staff.

It is probably more cost efficient to manufacture rifles chambered for rimless cartridges. Also not to difficult to find a cartridge that can be used in the same scenario as a .30-30 with better interior and exterior ballistics. Makes more sense than throwing money and resources at a .30-30 bolt gu...

Re: J frames

Shooting J Frame quickly and accurately can be tricky, it's basically an experts weapon. Trigger pull is long and heavy, it reloads slowly... recoil is hard to manage well. One thing I've found that works well, is to insert your trigger finger MUCH farther than you normally would. Basically you want...

Re: 45-70 Reloads

2400 is a pistol powder and pretty fast burning... Based on what I'm reading online some people have had success with it, but they are using a heavier projectile, and less powder. It's probably one of those things that is marginal. If you have ACTUAL load data from a manufacturer, or from a reloadin...

Re: Breaking news: Rod Rosenstein is resigning!

If it is proven true that this guy actually did this, not sure which president executed someone on White House lawn for treason but I think it’s time to do it again, if proven this actually happened. I agree yukonjasper needs to go down, anyone who has lived this long without being able to pick up ...

Re: Breaking news: Rod Rosenstein is resigning!

He should actually be arrested for sedition, indicted, prosecuted and literally executed if found guilty. I think partizan politics has poisoned your mind. His willingness to conspire with others to wear a wire in an effort to record the president in an effort to have him declared crazy and removed...

Re: Gunsmith Sticky?

I typically do most everything on my own stuff... but I don't have a lathe or a mill.
In the rochester area, Clint at coyote creek had tackled some harder projects for me.. and done a great job. Everything from an RPD build to a fitting a barrel to my madsen.
