What to use for a back stop when shooting a rimfire?

Hey, I shoot my 22lr. and my 17 hmr. all the time. I have several different places that I can shoot safely at. What I mean is I don't have to worry about ricochet. The places are pretty vacant. I always use a 2x4 built backstop, to hold my targets. The face of the backstop is actually 2x10s that I do...

YO DAVE spring kit for CZ 452

I bought a CZ 452 in .22LR. It is a nice gun, but the trigger had the most creep I have ever felt in a rifle. I did some research and came across rimfirecentral.com, and the YO DAVE shim and spring kit was highly recommended. It sells on ebay. I bought and installed it. With a little trial and error...

scope rings for CZ 452

I just received my scope rings for my CZ 452 American. I guess some people have trouble finding rings that fit the dovetail on the CZ's because they don't know what size the dovetail is. It is either 3/8 or 11mm. Regardless, the rings I ordered will work for either size. I ordered BKL brand. I order...

What .22 to buy?

I was thinking about adding a new .22 LR to the collection, and I had asked about the Weatherby XXII, and a CZ 453, in some earlier posts. The Weatherby is nice, and CZ is is also nice, at half the price. The Weatherby is probably too rich for my blood, and I am not so sure about the CZ. A number of...

Weatherby XXII

Does anybody out there own a Weatherby XXII? I am interested in buying one, and I want to know if it is worth the money. I have always wanted a high end .22 LR. I don't know why I want one. Re: What Bullets do you use?

I mainly use Hornady and Nosler. I go after coyotes. I use a .223 for that, and I use the 55 grain V max, and the 55 grain Ballistic tip. They both shoot well for me, and they do the job on a yot'e. I have used CT Ballistic SilverTips for deer in my .243. They are 95 grain, and seem to work well. I ...

Re: Marlin XL7 Rifle

Hi, I also have a Marlin XL7 rifle in 270 win. I have had very good accuracy with Remington Core Lokt 130 grain. I am able to put a 3 shot group into a 1 inch circle, at 100 yards. I am shooting off a bench, and I take my time. I also have tried the 150 grain Core Lokt's. My group opened up, but it ...

Re: Speer Gold Dot 170 grain.

I received my Speer Gold Dot 170 grain .38 cal bullets last week. I loaded 5 with Accurate #9, and 5 with Alliant 2400. I used the load data that I got directly from Speer. I followed their load data exactly. I started with their minium numbers. I also kept c.o.a.l. to what they suggested. Shooting ...
