Re: WTS Piece of **** Scope *SOLD*

:blah: :blah: :blah: :P Don't hate the player, hate the game 8-) .... speaking of when the hell is the game going to finish! yeah, that was an impressive target Now I'm really set up, I sold the 6-20-39mm fine duplex Leupold and just mounted a 12-42-56mm Nightforce NXS with a CH3 reticle on that rig.

Re: My 1911 Kaboom Experience

WOW! Loading up before heading out? Now you have to tell your story, can't let it hang out there like that... Hurt anything other than your hearing? how did the gun turn out? Yep, pulled my 3" carry gun out, tossed in a mag, hit the release and kaboom! Still not sure how it happened, t...

After seeing all of the targets, I think I would rather just give it to hammAR. He will actually be able to hit it. ;)

Re: My 1911 Kaboom Experience

Glad you're okay! I survived an attack from one of my 1911's this past year, thankfully I had no fault in the situation as I was using purchased loads and it was a failure on the part of the weapon, at any rate its pretty scary stuff when things go wrong around firearms. In my case I had a round go ...

Re: UPDATE: Why I have never used a digital powder scale

I love digitals, get a good one and you will not be disappointed, will surpass all balance beams of equal price. Now I should note, none of the scales available from the big names are good for super precise weighing. For a budget scale you cant beat the Denver Instruments MXX-123. The rights to this...

Re: Recoil reduction for a rifle

Do I stand behind Joe's et. al. regarding a minor stock fitting and pad installation, yes. See pics, I sure as hell wouldn't. I did the job myself better. Would I take a family heirloom like a a 1937 Browning 16 ga A5 to them, NFW..........That's like asking if I would take my 66 Vette to a local C...

Re: Recoil reduction for a rifle

Relationships are what you make of them, sad that you had a "bad" experience, but IF you have been here for any amount of time you will notice that there is not a gun shop around that someone isn't pissed at. I have seen folks slam Frontiersman, Gunstop, Joes, Bills, Ahlmans, J&S, Bur...

Re: Recoil reduction for a rifle

it is worth while to have it done by a pro (suggest the smith at Joes).............. Joes owner, shop manager (Doug) and smith (Bob) are the biggest bunch of dishonest folks that I've ever run into in my life. Bobs work is shabby at best, pathetic would be or a more appropriate word. Doug is a croo...

Re: How to set up your scope 101

Now you can set it to infinity, but remember that you MUST turn the dial all the way past infinity to the stop, EVERY TIME before going from a close range to a longer range. If you are set for 500 yds, you can go directly to 100 yds, but if you are set for 100 and want to set it to 500, you MUST go...

Re: Hearing Protection While Hunting

I have the Peltor Tactical Sport elec muffs and would be lost without them. They are the greatest thing for shooting, you can maintain a completely normal conversation with a shooting partner. They are very safe when working with people unfamiliar with firearms, nothing is lost, I almost feel they s...

Re: Rifle Case resizing

I use the Hornady one shot spray lube, works great for regular reloading, however I can't say how it would work when doing serious case forming.

Re: What firearm are you using for deer opener?

I will be taking out the L61R SAKO finnbear in 7mag with a 3-9 VXII. The load could be one of a few. I have a tight shooting load consisting of a 139 Nosler CT/BT over 65.5 grains of H4831, pushes it to right around 3000. I also have a 160 grain Sierra GK over a max load of RL22, this also ends up p...

Re: Looking for some glass

For long range out to 1000 yards you will want a 30 tube and at least 1/4 or .25 adjustment. IMHO shooting a 1,000 yards would make 1/8th moa adjustments more desirable, being able to move in 2.5" incraments would suck, 1.25" would be much better. At any rate its very hard to recomend som...

Re: AR15 Carbine Owners- typical accuracy question

I wasn't trying to insinuate that you were green or didn't know what you were talking about, just stating thoughts. With my M4 clone, I could pretty consistantly get somewhere between 1 and 2 MOA with "nuttin' special" ammo. granted, for what I expected that platform to do, it was plenty ...
