Savage 243 project, long range, first test

Just finished my first Savage build and I must say I’m pretty happy. I’ve only got 25 rounds thru it using random loads selected from the books but already its showing signs that it will be a real shooter once I get the load dialed in. I played around at 100 yards for the first 15 or so rounds then ...

Re: iPhone App

I use the BulletFlight app from Knight's Armament http://www.knightarmco.com/bulletflight/images/BulletFlightPromo1_small.jpg http://www.knightarmco.com/bulletflight/ I've been using this as well and love it, I like that you can save custom weapon profiles with 5 different loads, re...

Re: Opinions on XD and XDM

I've had both the regular XD9 service and the XDM(still have this one), I like the XDM much better, larger capacity, VERY accurate, I like the crip better, moth the backstraps and the serrations, I get a much firmer grip feel with the M not a huge deal but I think it looks much better, the XD's look...

Good Day at The Range

Good Day at The Range This spring I picked up a Remington R25 (DPMS AR10) in 243 WIN, I’m a huge fan of the 243 and couldn’t pass this rifle up, I figured it would make a great Yote gun and could even be used for deer and antelope as well, plus I just thought it was a neat looking and a nice change ...

Re: Barnes Varmint Grenade and a Watermelon.

Great video! I'm a big fan on the VG's, I've had very good luck with the 36gr 22 cal units, In my rifles they seem to really like speed, my best loads in 22-250 chrono at 4400 FPS, hard on the throat I know but man do they shoot, the slightly lighter 4200 loads do plenty fine as well. I also have ha...

Re: Testing commercial ammo with the JP LRP-07

Very nice looking rig there! I would have hoped for a little better groups, hopefully it does better with some hand loads, my R25 has been shooting damn near bugholes at 100 with 10.9X scope, 4 out of 5 will touch almost every time, the JP's are far and away a much finer rifle so you better get back...

Re: Has any found large rifle primers?

I find the 300 limit sad. They were forced to switch from a 1000 each limit to the 300 limit because a steady stream of "primer pigs" would stop in each day and buy the max then resell them at triple the price. Funny part is, there are people out there who don't mind spending three times ...

Re: Has any found large rifle primers?

Wolf's Den had some last week, limit was 300. Shut your mouth, Wolfs Den is like fight club, you don't talk about it... I find the 300 limit funny, mostly because there is always exactly 3 boxes out, once I stopped in picked up 3 of a few flavors, then had my g/f stop in an hour later, what do you ...

Re: New Reloading Bench

I don't want to get into a Blue Vs Red, ............[followed by four paragraphs of debate on Blue Vs Red] :rotf: I'm not laughing at you Ragged, I just thought that was damn funny. Besides, four minutes was an arbitrary number. It may take slightly longer (maybe 7 - 10 minutes), but not the hours ...

Re: New Reloading Bench

I prefer fast change over while others like over complicated useless B/S. Yeah, I can see how you would prefer that. With my 550b it takes a drudging 4 whole minutes to change out from .45acp to .223. It's like an eternity! I can't believe the time I've lost to that. :| And as for the price differe...

Re: New Reloading Bench

All you need now is some blue presses. When you say Blue you really mean Red, right? :P Lee and Horandy are good stuff, but when we're talking progressive presses, Dillon smokes the competition by far. <-- Still has a green rock chucker 36" down from the blue monster. I'...

Barking for the first time

Just wanted to say howdy, pretty new around here but seems as thou I'll fit in just fine. I shoot pretty regularly; reload almost daily lol. I work in prototyping so I'm always tinkering around machining various things. I love the precision aspect of shooting and firearms and marvel at the little ge...
