Recruiters are not welcome but I am willing to bet that an islamist group burning American flags and shouting anti-bush slogans would probably be welcomed and probably admired for their willingness to exercise their rights to free speech and assembly.

Anyone that is issued a sidearm in the Army will get an M9 with the exception of certain special operations groups.
