Re: People Who Left

Tapatalk was designed to increase ad serves (thus revenue) for forum owners. It being "seen" as a utility by the user is paramount to it's success.

God knows what info they're selling out the back door...

Re: What is the status of Coonan?

Being a contract machine shop and being a product manufacturer are different beasts. If I had to guess; the soft gun market hit when Dan tried going whole hog into the gun business again. He had multiple employees and a big shop. You need to push volume to keep all those mouths fed. He's retirement ...

Re: People Who Left

Lost the boot sector on my laptop harddrive, and forums via smart phone are a pain. So I pulled back out of forums as a whole, as some other site's people were grating on me. Me, Vinnie, and the Fam have been busy getting ready to build up North. When I have my shop warming party, those who know me ...

Re: What is the status of Coonan?

Dan's FB profile lists him as "former president" of D.C.I.

If you didn't get your gun or money back, you might never get it now. Whole shop sold last month.

Re: Nosler load data

Looks like this is a long standing issue on their site. I was dealing with it back in March, PM'd them on Fb and never got a reply. The work-around is pretty easy though; the load data is a .jpg file, if you go into script debugging on the main cartridge page you'll find the call out for the "t...

Re: RPR now in 300WM & 338LM

The big Barrett with the floating barrel isn't accurate according to Oldman.

Midway's got Norma brass half-off now too. Btw

Re: RPR now in 300WM & 338LM

The MRAD just got adopted by the DoD, but you can damn near buy another 98b for what the caliber conversions cost. The only real differences between the MRAD and my gun are a folding stock and how the barrel attaches. Keymod vs M-loc is personal preference, and I think keymod looks like pallet racki...

Re: RPR now in 300WM & 338LM

$2785 after FFL fee (got free shipping from Buds). For some reason the battle-worn gray paint scheme wasn't as popular as they thought, so they dropped the price quite a bit to move them. I figured I could always cerakote it myself if I didn't like it, but it grew on me from the moment I pulled it o...

Re: RPR now in 300WM & 338LM

I don't think it'd fold up in use, I just don't think the chassis is rigid enough.

I bought a Barrett 98b tactical heavy barrel .338L in January. Finally got it to the range last weekend, and put 85 rounds through her before deciding I was done. :)

Re: RPR now in 300WM & 338LM

There's a lot of love for the RPR in .338LM in the .338 group on Fb. My only gripes with it are the stock's folding mechanism seemed a bit light-duty on the one I looked at, and the handguard they come with is big enough to stash a suppressor in (just looked Huge). I'm picky when it comes to $1600+ ...
