Just shy of 3 hours and this one's closed!

[Ended] Vinnies eye surgery #2: Marlin Model 15YN .22lr

Per situation outlined in post: http://www.mnguntalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=59811 We have a lovely Marlin 15YN (youth) .22lr and .22 short Single shot rifle up for auction to the highest bidder. This gun was purchased for my step-son, but he never took a shine to it and hasn't ever fired it so...

[Closed] Vinnie's eye surgery auction #1: Bucket-O-22lr

I adopted Vinnie from the Humane Society at the end of July last year. He'd been brought up from Florida with a bunch of other dogs from a no-kill shelter after they'd been unable to care for the number of animals they'd rescued from animal control. Vinnie was in a kennel in Florida for 5 months ges...

Hey! We're mean to you in person too. :rotf:

The ground is gooey everywhere that's bare dirt in Minnesota. I don't blame anyone for cancelling.

Re: .458 SOCOM build opinions

Depends on quality of the parts. The ejection port milling takes all of 10 minutes. Bolt's need a proper ejector and extractor, and even Brownells didn't get those right on theirs. Chamber dimensions on certain barrels are off enough to be a problem on properly sized brass.

Sorry :D

I am blaming FJ so feel free to add on the blame!

Hey, I was a late adopter of the big bores. It took me a while to warm up to super low mag capacity, but for hunting it's a non-issue.

Re: .458 SOCOM build opinions

I already have a 500gr mould, and a 330gr that were purchased specifically for .458S. The guys on the SOCOM group on Fb seem to like the Gibbz uppers. They cut the ejection port big from the factory, so you're good to go rather than needing to mod it (which is painless on a mill). PM me with questio...

Re: Short range backstop or berm options

700yds. I haven't tried measuring it outside of the county GIS, but it should be do-able. If you can find your range on Google Earth, there's a neat measurement tool: Tools/ Ruler - This is per the GIS. There's a shallow draw that runs across the North end of the range which is where I had the fall...
