Not bad...how far do they push the envelope in winter?

365 days a year you can shoot at OGC.
I've been a member there for 9 years, and it is full of a great people, great facilities and one excellent picnic every summer.

Re: Fall Turkey Hunting

I've shot several in the Fall. My best success came with scouting well and having a general idea where they are. They'll be feeding on acorns under Oaks and on berries- even buckthorn berries. In the afternoon, you can ambush them on the way to their roost. Sunny areas, usually west-facing hillsides...

Re: deer pistol poll

I know a .357 magnum revolver will work, same as .243 rifle. I own both, but will not hunt deer with either. My only deer rifle is an old Model 70 Featherweight .243 I've taken so many deer with I've lost count. Last year, I dropped two with my Dakota 1873 .357 and that was a blast, iron sights and...

Re: 36 rounds to hit a pop can at 15 feet

Take a big piece of cardboard and hot glue some charcoal briquettes to it. Not only do they stand out when sighting, they bust real well too- fun for the kids.

Re: Good Leather Holster Selection in TC Area?

I've got a heavy Mexican gunbelt rig if I want to go all Tombstone, I'm just looking for a belt slide for daily carry. Don't really want fancy ornamentation to draw any more attention to the fact that I open carry. Most people don't notice my full size 1911, so I'm going to alternate now and again. ...

Good Leather Holster Selection in TC Area?

I'm looking for a good place to see and try out some varieties of SAA Cowboy-types. Could be embossed or plain, but need for a 4 3/4" barrelled SA revolver.
Thanks.

Re: Need a good argument for use with an anti....

You many not get a clincher on this. It's all about your Mom controlling you, not the guns. They are a convenient straw man. Try and draw a parallell for her- use an anology she can understand. Find something close to her heart (not a lung) and use it. Does she collect figurines, plates, dolls, pott...

Score One For Wisconsin!

MADISON, Wis. - State lawmakers have approved a special gun deer hunt for Wisconsin soldiers who missed the regular hunt because they were overseas. The program announced Friday will link returning soldiers with landowners whose crops are being damaged by nuisance deer. Representative Chris Danou of...

Re: Taurus CIA

The .38/.357 is the main selling point in the .357 caliber.
Cool pistol!

I'm wanting a Vaquero or similar in the same caliber. 45 long colt would be great, but holy cow, those rounds are expensive.

Re: New To This Forum

And me as well. Several musicians on this site! I've got a couple of Les Pauls too, though no gold tops. Is that a hollowbody LP or something like an ES-137? My favorite is my '57 Black Beauty reissue, which sounds amazing through my vintage '67 Plexi. Welcome to the forum! It's a Gibson es-295. I ...

Re: Varmint hunting in MN

I used to coyote hunt down at Whitewater. The place is completely empty during the winter. Lots of dogs down there, along with the beautiful views and pizza at Mauers in Elba.
