Re: Thinking of upgrading pocket pistols...

I have a PF9 and love it. I think the recoil has something to do with hand size. If it fits you, you hardly notice it and if it don't it does sting a bit.

Re: I got a real problem here... Thoughts needed.

I don't need 30 rounds, I only need one. But that 1 can come from a 30-round mag just as easily as a 5-round. Why should I have to buy a special mag for hunting?

Re: I got a real problem here... Thoughts needed.

I went through the same decision.
AR vs Remington 700, .223 vs .308, I wound up with a Saiga .308 .

Re: M1 vs 7.62 vs ar15

I kicked around the same thing, sustitute AK47 for 7.62, and wound up with a Saiga .308.

Re: lcr vs s&w 642

I guess my opinion is irrelevant at this point, but I very briefly owned a 642. It is the only gun I have ever fired that left my hand numb, I would not recommend it to anyone. My wife and I are still trying to get rid of the twitch it induced. I imagined myself saying to an intruder "Please le...

Re: Stuff you've heard at the range...

From down the firing line: Bang! "Cease Fire!" guy goes down range to check target. "Range is hot!" Fiddles with scope a bit. Bang "Cease Fire!" Goes down range again to check target. "Range is Hot!" Fiddles with scope. Bang "Cease fire!" I must admi...

Re: Announcing...Old Country Buffet!

Had a nice turnout this morning--maybe 20-22 people. Had a couple guys who are relatively new to our community come, and I am sure they were well treated. Mike Martin showed us his new third edition of THE book on Minnesota carry--each edition more terrific than the last. Thanks to all for the good...

Re: Carrying Reloads With A Revolver

This might do the trick... Not a huge fan of Uncle Mike's stuff. Has anyone tried this? http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=640356 I go tone for my .357 Rossi before I switched to an auto. Seems to work fine, but it's really fat when folded. Imagine a triple stack magazine if there ...

Re: First Wednesday Lunch

Well, guess I won't make it then. $10 is a bit steep for a pop. Maybe some other time.

Re: .22 for Appleseed - Marlin or Ruger?

I've got a Marlin 70HC. Very accurate, easy to handle, functions well but seems to work better with hypervelocity rounds. Every now and again I'll feed it some bulk .22, then I get frustrated and come back to CCI Stingers. I sometimes think I should have gotten the Ruger when I look at all the acces...

Actually, I think the Brady Bunch is opposed to civilian ownership of body armor.

Just moved back to Minnesota

Good to be back in the deep freeze. I had been living in Alabama until my job quit me. I took some time off, wrote a novel ("Victim Selection Error", available at Amazon, Barnes&Noble.com, etc.) Then decided it was time to head north. It's great to be back, and I look forward to gettin...
