Re: MPR story on women and guns

I'm a member and even I think the NRA is the Walter Sobchak of issue advocacy. They're not wrong, but they are ********. That **** LaPierre said at the Newtown was right in that banning stufff isn't going to help, but the way in which he said it, and the way he went on about 15 year old video games ...

MPR story on women and guns

I thought this was a good segment. I'm pleased that Ms. Miller actually took the time to try shooting. I doubt her mind was changed but perhaps a tiny bit of light was shed on the subject.

There was another good segment with Dan Baum on Monday that is also worth listening to.

Re: WOW!

Honestly, I don't understand why people buy anything at gun shows. Is there really any item you can get at a gun show that you can't get at any of the gun/sports stores in the state? Or online? I don't think so. Gun shows have always been a rip-off. This is nothing new. I saw a SIG C3 for $799 at o...

Re: SF 458 Passed committee...

No, neither Heller nor McDonald dealt with the carrying of firearms in public. The ruling of the 7th circuit court in Moore v. Madigan state must provide a mechanism for a person to be able to carry in public, but they didn't go into what that mechanism must be or how it must work. That, and the 9t...

Urgent: Call Senator Latz THIS MORNING

Seems as though even if Latz did pass his bill in the Senate that Paymars companion bill in the House may not get passed out of committee because of a DFL'er. God bless gridlock.

Re: is Fleet Farm Gouging???

NO. If they were gouging, there would be ammo available for purchase on the shelves. I thought $220 was pretty high too, but you know what? At least you can find it, unlike .223 or 5.56, and it's still less than half the price of the cheapest .223 around. I'm not worried as I stocked up when it was ...

Gun Control and Second Amendment Rights

That Yale article was a good read. Interesting that it is 24 years old.

Gun Hearings Done. Will we be Screwed by 'OMNIBUS GUN BILL'

FYI the NY Supreme Court is not their highest court. It's basically a trial judge. Great story, but this is just the first step.

SCOTUS May Hear Case on Right to Carry

I didn't click the link but I'd say it's likely. The 7th Circuit just reaffirmed its decision that the 2nd guarantees a right to carry. I think there was also a negative decision out of the Tenth Circuit this week and the First a few months back that is waiting for the Supremes to decide if they'll ...

Re: ...and now for a completely serious discussion on underwear

If you carry IWB the under-armour type t-shirts also help in keeping the shirt from getting caught when you holster or snagging on the draw.

Re: Magazine Ban - Firearms 101

Love it. I was thinking about shooting one of these myself but this is much better done. The one concern I have is that if it doesn't distinguish between the offensive and defensive applications of a high cap mag. For example, If you're carrying a pistol and an extra mag each additional limited capa...
