Re: New Ruger SR9

I have had my SR9 for over a year now. Ruger redid the trigger as part of the recall last year. I shoot a lot, including rimfire, revolver, autoloader and even shotgun. Several thousand rounds have been shot through the SR9 with no, repeat NO, failures. The trigger is not great, I admit, but on the ...

Re: Browning Shotgun for Trap and/or Sporting Clays

Here is the end of the story - speaking of Spicer... A few weeks ago I stopped in at Mel's Gun Shop and ended up with a Browning BT-99 Special Steel. Adjustable comb, adjustable recoil pad and ported barrel. It shoots like a dream! Mel gave me a good deal, dropping the price down from $999 to $850. ...

Re: Browning Shotgun for Trap and/or Sporting Clays

I shot a round with my neighbor's Beretta last summer. Missed a lot of birds until I realized that the super light trigger pull actually required that I increase my lead a little. After that I did well.

It is indeed a nice gun.

Re: Browning Shotgun for Trap and/or Sporting Clays

OK. I am almost there. I can toss the clay out behind my back, pick up the gun off the table and load it. But then the clay has already hit the ground.

But...I don't have a Benelli - that must be the problem.

Thanks, everyone for the great tips!!

Re: Browning Shotgun for Trap and/or Sporting Clays

Anyone have recommendations for a good autoloader trap shooting gun? I know little about these guns.

In the "under $1500" range. Would that be possible?

Re: Browning Shotgun for Trap and/or Sporting Clays

Well now you've done it. I thought I had the choice narrowed down to the BP-99 or Citori, but now I definetely have to add a Browning semi-auto to my list.

Great info. Looks like a handy widget to have at low cost.

Re: Browning Shotgun for Trap and/or Sporting Clays

Re gas guns As a matter of fact, I have tried a Browning auto and liked it very much. The recoil was less and the trigger was a dream. BUT - It is embarassing to be scrounging around for your empties afterward. Hence the current preference for a break action shotgun with extractors (not ejectors). T...

Re: Browning Shotgun for Trap and/or Sporting Clays

Those are the impressions I am getting. I have seen nothing that would induce me to pay the extra $$ for the Cynergy.

Browning Shotgun for Trap and/or Sporting Clays

I intend to purchase a shotgun next spring, primarily for trap shooting. Browning appears to be the brand of choice, but here is my question... It is quite clear that the single shot BT-99 would make a good trap gun but Cynergy and Citori models are also made in trap versions. Study as I might, I ca...

Ruger SR9 Upgrade Information

If you chase the link below, you will be presented with information on the SR9 upgrade Ruger is doing as part of their recall activity. Trigger will be greatly improved, it would seem. I am waiting to have my pistol called in. When the work is done, I will follow up here with what I think of the upg...

No guns in London

CNN special report this am People in London cannot own guns. In this special, CNN reports how gangs are roaming the streets with knives. Stabbings are up. I suppose if they were to ban knives, the gangs would carry lead pipes. Expensive, I know, but they would probably steal them from somewhere anyw...

Re: May Steel Shoot!!!!!

I was NOT allowed to shoot rimfire last fall. I doubt it would be accepted this time around.

Re: May Steel Shoot!!!!!

Thanks for the info. The tactical holster might just get me the edge I need to move up out of last place.

Re: May Steel Shoot!!!!!

Hey guys

Are there any rules about what types of holster can be used? In particular, is a thigh mount ok (I think it is sometimes referred to as a tactical holster)?

Thanks
