Re: Bankruptcy & My Guns

A bit off the direct subject, but I watched the video and it struck me as pretty good proof that there's something wrong with the way the system works. The lawyer mentioned trying to make sure that things like your boat and your snowmobile were protected and that you could keep them. Gee, it seems t...

Re: Can a convicted felon own/possess a BB gun in MN?

Would this apply to a paint ball gun too? In State v. Coauette, 601 N.W.2d 443, Minn. App. 1999 the suspect fired and hit a 14-year-old girl walking down the street with a paint ball gun causing swelling and scratches. The The Court said that paint ball guns are not firearms because they aren’t des...

Fox 9 piece on guns in school

Did anyone see the piece on Channel 9 tonight about the shooting in the school in Wis? There was a 'discussion' between Heather Martens and John Caile about whether teachers should carry guns in school in order to provide a quicker response to these sorts of things. Just about the dumbest premise I'...

Re: Possession of a firearm?

Couple of points. The details of the conviction and facts of the case make a significant difference in what is legal/illegal. Federal law makes it illegal for a person with a conviction for domestic assault to possess a firearm. period. Minnesota law distinguishes based on where the conviction occur...

large gun auction March 27

I saw an auction bill for a sale this Saturday where 400 guns are going to be sold. My impression is that it's likely there'll be a few dealers there who may find a bargain and a lot of folks who are going to pay too much for something that hasn't been checked out very well. It's about 150 mile driv...

Re: Paymar's "gun Show Loophole" bill rears its ugly head again

Word I got was that it was shut down on a vote and should be DOA.

Re: Paymar's "gun Show Loophole" bill rears its ugly head again

I got an e-mail from MN GORCA about this and they have some stuff from a couple of reports that look to be good things to help nail this bill. I can't find links to the stuff they claim including one from some outfit at Mankato State. Anyone have the links to those studies?
