Re: Looking at O/U shotguns

I picked up a used Ruger Red Label for about $900 that I use as a target gun. Personally I don't collect my shells so the ejectors are nice. I have a friend who has no problems catching them as they come out of his Citori. However I recommend doing the math on reloading before you go through the ha...

Re: Looking at O/U shotguns

For a new gun in that price range, you are going to be disappointed in the long run if not the short one. Anything much under a grand will have a number of shortcuts made which will give you nothing but problems. Fixing such a gun is much like fixing an AM transistor radio- it will cost much more t...

Re: Looking at O/U shotguns

Just want to echo what Belgiboy said. I was in the same boat, a friend of mine advised me to wait a bit for the right deal and to save up a few more bucks. Ended up getting a used Citori lightning for 1k, in mint, perfect, looked like it had never been fired condition. Today it might even sell for ...

Thunder71 wrote:For what? Hunting, trap?

Extractors for trap, ejectors for hunting usually.

As mentioned $600 is tough but not impossible.

primarily going to be used for trap

Re: Looking at O/U shotguns

Also am I correct in that ejectors throw the spent shells all the way out and extractors only pop the spent shells out partially and then removed by hand?

Re: Looking at O/U shotguns

Thanks for the input so far. Also I think I'd prefer extractors over ejectors so I don't have to be picking spent casings off the ground. If needed I could stretch the budget some

Re: Hearing Protection: Looking for Advice

I was looking at these and they claim a NRR of 33db and in the specs it lists a 200 hour battery life. Anyone have any experience with these as far as fit/comfort and is that kind of battery life realistic if they are constantly being worked by background jet engine noise? http://www.earplug...

Hearing Protection: Looking for Advice

Recently started a new job at the airport and using hearing protection is required (they issued us muffs as well as foam push in type) but am possible looking into something with some type of active noise cancelling so I can more easily hear/communicate with people as I work. Looking for something t...

Re: Great Customer Service-Buck Knives

YEP, they replaced one for me also, theyr blades are brittle as glass, I have broken too many of them, just one of the reasons I haven't bought one in many years. John I wouldn't say the blades are brittle as glass. I had it for several years before the tip broke, what are you doing to your knives ...

Need Help- Trouble finding a part

I'm in need of a new front sight for my Daisy 856 Powerline and am having trouble finding one. The front sight doesn't stay in place properly anymore and its necessary to help hold the barrel in place. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Zack
