Re: Sealed Mindset Carbine Course 07 August

It does not have to be an AR type. We just have most of our experience with those and so will provide a lot better training on them. It does have to be a 5.56 or pistol caliber weapon because of the range limitations.

Re: .223 or 5.56 advise...

Precision Cartridge in Indiana makes some pretty good re-manufactured stuff that's fairly cost effective and available in pretty large quantities. We're not affiliated with them in any way, but I've bought from them in the past personally.

Re: Silhouette targets

LE Targets has a good selection. There's a local company called In Range that we are working with that sells them as well and has a good range of paper silhouette targets and situational/picture targets. Link is here:

Re: The definitive Glock or 1911 answer

On a more serious note, for informational purposes only, one of the top CQB focused units in the world just got rid of their 1911's and went to the Glock 21 because of reliability, particularly in really dirty/dusty places................. Some day you Navy guys will have to hire a Marine to teach ...

Re: The definitive Glock or 1911 answer

What you can do though, is compare price points. Put a $500 glock up against a $500 1911 (pick your maker). If somebody would do that extensively, then I might pay attention. Comparing $500 guns to $1500 guns just isn't logical, and it exposes a person's ignorance if they believe they are making a ...

Re: 1911 Full Size

but you should never "re-holster" (as it were) in anything approximating a hurry. This isn't necessarily true in my opinion. There's no reason to "rush" the gun back into the holster after every shot or engagement, but it is possible that you will need to re-holster it quickly a...

Re: 1911 Full Size

I would also recommend an IWB holster. I personally like the Galco Royal Guard, but there are a lot of good options out there. The biggest issue with 1911's is training yourself to manipulate the thumb safety under stress. It's easy to do...just takes repetition.
