Re: Local slide machining?

Scratch, from what I've seen of you (not talking about your tattoo) I'm not sure I'd wanna be around you when you're shooting!

Re: Local slide machining?

I see what you're saying, but in my case, it's a G17 so not so close to the muzzle to begin with. I also have a fair amount of combat experience which helps me deal with stress efficiently. With practice, you're not so much moving your hand forward as you are rotating the gun and pinching the slide ...

Re: Local slide machining?

I manipulate the slide at the front. Loading, reloading, clearing, all done forward of the ejection port. During a long day on the range, I occasionally found my hand slipping rather than racking the slide. Using other pistols with forward serrations I found this didn't happen. Easy fix for a decent...

Re: Local slide machining?

Just getting back to this, forgot about it... Dave has my slide now and is milling the forward serrations in it. Thanks all

Re: AAR: Learning Firearms Moving Handgun, Breezy Point MN

Great write up, I thoroughly enjoyed this class (as well as all the others this year) and am looking forward to Fisher's class next month. The reason I didn't have the Venom RDS zeroed was that I had to send it back to Vortex for repair and had just gotten it back. I had enough time to fire about 5 ...

Local slide machining?

I'm looking to have some work done on my G17. After running through Handgun Fundamentals yesterday with Learning Firearms, I've decided I need serrations on the front of the slide, previously I thought I had enough grip strength to be ok without them... Is there a somewhat local shop that can take c...

Re: Gonna buy an AR...

Noveske or POF? Why? I want accuracy, quality and something that is the best. For best accuracy, a piston gun won't do it. DI is where it's at for tack driving a semi-auto. quality??? I'd pick Noveske over POF and I'd pick Larue over pretty much anything else on the market. "something that is ...

Re: DNR Auction

Awesome real-life examples my friend! Since the first one is completely worthless, I'll offer my opinion on the second - the evidence present, assuming it is legal for the po-po to be peering through your window, suggests that you did indeed commit a crime. Are you guilty? That would be for the cou...

Re: Where to get finger printed for SBR?

Well, on Aug 10 they kicked it back because I R stupid! Didn't read enough FAQs on forums and put "multi" for caliber... Ann Feltner is my reviewer... anyway, the returned form somehow got lost at my house, and I just found it a few weeks ago. By a strange coincidence, Ann called me...
