Re: MN Gun Laws for an 18 Year Old (?)

I thought I had the "Notify Upon Reply" selected... And one month later... meh.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I'll definitely be living off campus, so I'm not worried about what UST thinks on this matter.

They've been out to get me since I was born... (That'd be 18 years today.)

Re: MN Gun Laws for an 18 Year Old (?)

Another question that I just thought up: While you need the permit to purchase the AR-style rifle in MN, I take there would be no problem with me bringing something from CA? (The whole rifle, not just a part, as previously talked about.) Since I'm still trying to be conservative with the money -- I'...

Re: MN Gun Laws for an 18 Year Old (?)

what are you looking for? AR. I'm fully aware of the age for handguns. You need to be 18 to purchase an assault rifle, but you also need a permit to purchase. Some cities aren't aware of this, and think you need to be 21 in order to get a permit to purchase. Others are on the ball and stamp their p...

Re: MN Gun Laws for an 18 Year Old (?)

A "permit to purchase" - issued by the Chief of Police in your city of residence - is required for anyone to purchase a handgun or an EBR (Evil Black Rifle). Seeing as you are not yet 21, that may pose a bit of an issue. Especially if you'll be living in St. Paul. The top cops in the metr...

Re: New Member Here

Thanks for the welcome, guys! I'm lookin' forward to it -- I really like the area of St Paul that I'll be in. :) Welcome from Garage Logic. What part of St. Paul are you looking at? Well, hopefully something within walking distance of UST (Summit Ave is reaaaaaaly nice), but anywhere in that genera...

Re: New Member Here

I'm in an extremely nice area right now, but like I said, I'm just lookin' for a change. St Paul has a school I want, family, it's a nice area.... Only drawback for me ...

Re: MN Gun Laws for an 18 Year Old (?)

IF you are going to be around guns. Why not take the gun safety course? It just makes sense to do it. You will be on the same level a lot of the hunters are to a degree. Nothing wrong with learning a little bit. Definitely nothing wrong with completing safety courses (didn't mean for that to come o...

Re: New Member Here

welcome, i would not move here if i was already living in san diego I want out. I love the weather, and I love the hills, but it's almost as if the state gov is strangling gun owners... If I do decide to go to MN for college, however, I'm not staying after I finish my degree. Waaaay too cold. I'm m...

MN Gun Laws for an 18 Year Old (?)

Hi all, As mentioned in my intro, I'm planning on relocating to Minnesota (most likely) after I get a year of community college done. One of my top choices for college is the University of St Thomas in St Paul. Now on to my questions: I'm about to turn 18 in a few days, and have just started to real...

Hi all, New guy here. I'm about to graduate high school here in San Diego, and after a year of community college, St Paul is on my list of possibilities for college (grandfather attended University of St Thomas before WWII, and I've got plenty of family in the area). Just here to get some first-hand...
