Re: Interesting addition in Iowas law!

And let's not get too carried away. I didn't say anything about naval officers. Gunny did. :P All you people look the same to me. To be safe, let's just say that if I got to write the sentences. Not guidelines. ;) The problem is that the judicial system makes mistakes, and convicts innocent...

Re: Interesting addition in Iowas law!

Aaah, but you don't get to pick and choose what part of my hypothetical answer to your hypothetical question applies. I also stated that, hypothetically, sentences would be appropriate and long enough that the felon paid his due when he got out.......IF he got out. Playing "what if" only ...

I take it you are not? You have a line, right? Are you ok with felons who have served their sentence getting permits?

Re: Interesting addition in Iowas law!

When they get out, should they be allowed to carry? The 2nd Amendment doesn't say "except for convicted felons and wifebeaters." What does "paid in full" mean to you? It means the judge handed out a sentence, including a probationary period at the end, and the convict has comple...

Re: Interesting addition in Iowas law!

But alas, there are a few on this forum who believe you should be allowed to carry a gun free and clear with no laws or permits whatsoever............... Damn straight, it is a Right and I should not have to ask permission, and as such I should not be licensed or taxed by any governmental body to e...

Re: Two Guns That Killed Police Officers?

You should always check the alignment of any gun you decide to buy. Would hate to get stuck with a chaotic evil vorpal Hi-point.

Re: Interesting addition in Iowas law!

So was I, but, I was also a roving security patrol carrying a 1911 colt. And had training like once a year for it. I don't think simply being in the Military constitutes training for handguns, but, if it IS in your service record then Why the need to spend $200.00 for a ******* class? Alt...

Re: Interesting addition in Iowas law!

Hmmm. I don't know about you, but I had to submit to the Sheriff a signed certificate from a state-approved instructor/business as a condition for accepting my application. Although my instructor doesn't live anywhere near me, he does have to satisfy requirements dictated by the state and tailor hi...

Re: Interesting addition in Iowas law!

If you completed basic you shouldn't need a thumbs up from the state that you understand what a firearm is and how to use it. In Minnesota, the thumbs up doesn't come from the state. It comes from certified firearms instructors that live in the same neighborhoods as the people who they are certifyi...

Re: Interesting addition in Iowas law!

While I appreciate the convenience that the Iowa provides, having additional training is a good idea. You fight like you train, and training someone did 20 years ago doesn't exactly keep the skills sharp.

Yeah, if you want AIDSabasa.

You get what you pay for. Use top quality ingredients for stuff you make at home. It's still cheaper than the cheap stuff bought at a "discount" hellhole.

Re: Cops Las night...

The police officer has no case when he tells you "Tell me what happened and it will go better for you", thats a lie. I generally see "Just tell the truth and it'll make everything easier." Technically that's not a lie. They just don't specify who it will be easier for.

Re: WTB: Upright refrigerator or freezer

Do you have a make/model? Not having cooling coils through the middle is vital for our needs.

WTB: Upright refrigerator or freezer

Looking for an up-right non-combination fridge or freezer without cooling coils through the middle of the chamber. Looking for something in the 18-21 cu ft range, although bigger is an option as well. Going to convert it to a curing chamber!
