Re: Metal Detectors at the State Fair

Or, not going at all...... 9 out of 10 years, that's my plan. If one goes on a weekday, and gets out of there before mid afternoon, it's not bad. But then. I've gotten to the point where the most interesting attractions are the DNR fish tanks, the space needle ride...and a few free concerts. If thi...

Re: CCI 35 primers

The only limits on display are area allowed and ambition/knowledge/comfort of staff to put out primers. By my reading the MN Statutes say only 10,000 may be on display. We're only supposed to store 10,000 at home too, in case anyone asks. Sure glad I don't exceed that and the 20 pound powder limita...

Check out the videotaped testimony of Reverend Timothy Christopher at the hearing:

I wish I could have been there to see the faces of the committee members he was calling out.

Re: Will anyone be in Hibbing Jan 20 for the Senate gun hearing?

I'm thinking of stowing away on the Protect MN bus to save gas. I'll wear an orange shirt, will blend in just fine. BTW, I have an appearance of a liberal (pompous, professor look). They'll never know. SOOO FUN How you getting home? :cogitating: I guess I may look like a professor, but don't have t...

Re: Bill protects gun owners taking firearms across state lines

Now we just need to get the term "shall not be infringed" clarified to mean shall not be infringed. I think "infringed" is too big a word for many politicians. They might not be able to spell it but they sure know how to do it. Without infringement, what's the point of having su...

Re: Police have arrested this felon four times in four months

How many times does one need to be arrested while out on bail for other charges before judges start saying it's enough and deny bail? Seems kind of ridiculous to keep letting this guy back out on the street, but what do I know? Depends. If you're familiar with the practices of the Ramsey Cty Atty, ...

Re: Minnesota is losing a congressional district

In ‘80 Carter carried 6 states. It was ‘84 that MN was the only state not for Reagan. You are right; I stand corrected. Interesting Reagan had 10x the the number of Electoral College votes that Carter got ; 489/ 49 1980 https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/5c/Electoral...

Re: Minnesota is losing a congressional district

MN's congressional delegation hasn't been solidly DFL in many years. Mpls, St Paul, Duluth, and the far NW have been traditionally DFL. The others have been GOP as often as not. Right, but all 10 electoral votes go to whoever the Metro picks for POTUS. That has been a D since the 70s Yep; in '72, M...

Re: Minnesota is losing a congressional district

Is it a foregone conclusion MN is losing a house seat? I know there has been much speculation. And perhaps I'm too cynical for my own good, but given the abysmal voting behavior of this state, I think the nation would be better off if we did. I'm sure there's some downside to it for the state, but I...
