Re: Two truckers file lawsuit to carry guns across state lines

DOT regulations prohibit possessing a firearm while operating the rig. You can get a federal license to carry. But this was over 20 years ago. Not sure what changed since. There are no such DOT regulations. Lots of truckers carry but most necessarily keep it discreet due to company rules or custome...

Re: Abolish the ATF

Someone made the point that even if the ATF is disbanded, the laws they enforce will still be on the books. Enforcement will just be assigned to some other agency. Better to get rid of the laws that are problematic, like the NFA. Congress also needs to take abusive regulatory power away from all go...

Re: Hicock45 Talks About Leaving The NRA

Simply because the NRA has such name recognition in the halls of Congress, I bought a lifetime membership when they were being discounted just to crank up their membership number by one, and so I could say that I've donated as much money to them as I'm going to. Pretty much my situation. I did upgr...

Re: Security Guard Arrested After Altercation?

I suspect security guards and bouncers range on a continuum from bikers, and tough guys drinking free ... to uniformed guards .... to off duty LEOs. That a security personnel uses knife seems odd to me, but that could well depend on the situation and circumstances. Other media said the victim was st...

Re: You break into someone's home, you should expect to be shot

One wonders how far one we might have to go from the metro to find a sheriff who would publicly state what Sheriff Wells said... Back before we passed the shall-issue bill, 1998-99 or thereabouts, you were required to show "need" to get a permit. The police chief of Minneapolis testified ...

Re: Richfield man faces murder charge for shooting at group stea

While theft ought to justify opening fire, the letter of the law is that it doesn't. That said, don't hesitate to interrupt thieves and then use appropriate force in defense of self and others as circumstances may require. However 1 or more on the jury may question why you put yourself in the posit...

Re: Richfield man faces murder charge for shooting at group stea

The only situation that has occurred to me involves a threat to one's survival due to vehicle loss; ..a remote, isolated location, in the winter; your food, shelter, and perhaps some rare, vital meds... all in your vehicle, which someone is attempting to steal... ...perhaps analogous to being thrown...

Re: Richfield man faces murder charge for shooting at group stea

This story has made the rounds in local media. In every case I've seen mention of the '...woman struck by the gunfire and later died at a hospital...', no one has clarified whether this woman had a role in the theft ring, or if she was a completely uninvolved victim. ...not that those details would ...
