Kimber 1911's (for instance the Custom II)

K, I've asked about 1911's before and gotten crazy answers like Glock is better etc (I'm just joking here - take it easy) but in my research on the almighty 1911, I've come across some who say that Kimber is awesome and some that say that the frame cracks, and others (it seems) would tell you that y...

The WORST carry pistol?

You always see posts about what's the best carry pistol (and twenty pages of arguments afterwards). So, to think about this a different way, what is the WORST carry pistol for self defense and WHY? My top votes ... - The Derringer - Taurus Model 22 and other small 22 semi-autos - Glock Reasons The c...

Re: To Sight or not to Sight

With a handgun, even aimed fire should use both eyes. Closing an eye in a stressful situation only increases tunnel vision. Which eye is your dominant eye? I am left-eye dominant, and I hold my head a little different than most people because I have a right-handed grip on my handguns when shooting....

Re: Best Grip IYHO

Joe,

Do you stack your thumbs (interlock them) or just keep them loosely pinted towards the target? Does the loose grip allow the sympathetic finger movement pulling the pistol sideways?

Best Grip IYHO

What's the best handgun grip to use. Many I've talked with and seen use the "Crush" grip. The benefits I've heard are as following: - Less muzzle flip - Less sympathetic finger movement - Faster recovery ... esp. in larger calibers I'm not an expert but I'm open to other grip feeback. Flip

A good halo sight for < $100

I saw JoeH posted something about an inexpensive 1x optic. Does anyone have reccomendations for a good red-dot (the ones without the tube)? Two folks at the local Gander recommended the Barska (see URL below) http://www.barska.com/ac10632.html Any others I should consider? Thanks, Flip

Sig 250 Reviews?

I was looking for info on the new Sig 250. The one I picked up (a compact in 9mm) felt a little heavy on top and I'm guessing some of you wouldn't be impressed with DAO trigger but does anyone have one? Just wondering what your thoughts are on this? I've read reviews online but its hard to know if s...

Re: Kahr 1911?

Are you by any chance refering to the Auto Ordinance model? If so I personally think its a good basic gun, inexpensive and for me prefreable to the made in brasil variety for around the same money. You can always make it better though and end up with a very good 1911 for a lot less than some of the...

Kahr 1911?

I didn't know that Kahr made a 1911. Just wondering if any of you has any experience with the Kahr 1911. I'm mainly curious if this is a quality 1911 (as I understand that most of their handguns are) or if its of lower quality.

S&W lock vs. pre-lock

OK, I'm not a revolver guy and apparently wasn't paying enough attention during the attempt to sue the gun industry over all the "bad" things they (somehow) had done with their products. I see many classifieds advertising that their handgun (mainly revolvers) is pre-lock. So, what's the pr...

Re: Sigpro sp2022

Has anyone else noticed that the SigPro's grips are larger (in diameter) than the 229, 239 etc? If so, does anyone know why they're going with the bigger grip size? Is it just to add capacity?

Thanks,

Re: Taurus Warranty Question

Thanks all. I talked with a gunsmith at the local Gander and he told me that Taurus only gives lifetime warranty to the original owner only, hence, the question.

Thanks again,

Hi All,

I hear that Taurus has a lifetime warranty on their pistols ... question is - is it only for the original owner?

Thanks in advance

Re: Anyone 9mm Snubby Carry?

Hey Mac, Sorry, my comment wasn't meant to irritate anyone but it seems like when I read handgunreview.com and other spots with (owner) reviews of Taurus handguns, I hear a lot of things like the star gear (?) was all knarled up after XX boxes of ammo and I had to send it back to Taurus .... or, I s...
