Re: Use what works

ET, Do you know what it is to earn a black belt? Your talk says you don't ... it says you're simply trolling. I do. I spent time doing kata & holding positions that you'd give up in a less than a minute. I spent years learning about pain, how to overcome it, and about never giving in. Quote all ...

1911's vs. 2011's

In my never ending quest to ask just one more question .... For all of you 1911 guys out there ... do you like the idea of the 2011? If I understand correctly, the only real difference is double-stack vs. single stack (and yes, there are generally a few more calibers to shoot in general ... in other...

The Taurus 1911 ... Changed your mind?

I've been reading through old posts about what 1911 lovers thought about the Taurus 1911 when it first came out. A lot of threads about "Is the Taurus 1911 as Good As <insert 1911 here>". I saw comparisons to Kimbers, almost everyone said to spend the extra $$ & get the Kimber. I...

Re: 10mm Hunting Whitetails?

SHEESH!

I didn't know they changed the calibers allowed for hunting in MN. I was just asking out of curiousity thinking that of the "typical" auto's, only 10 mm was allowed.

I had a look at the DNR website and saw the changes.

10mm Hunting Whitetails?

[Mods: If you think this should be in hunting, feel free to move it]

If I understand the MN law on handgun use for hunting whitetails correctly, you can use a 10mm to hunt them. Anyone done this?

Just curious,

Your best handgun deal ever

I posted another thread and a guy said that he got a Sig 226 with Crimson trace grips for $290. Just wondering what your best deal is (not including being given a gun or inheritting one).

When you're purchasing a handgun do you ...

When you're purchasing a handgun do you tend to look for new or do you save the $$ and buy used. I would tend to buy used for the following reasons: - I've never really found a lemon gun - I'm C-H-E-A-P & it would drive nuts to see the depreciation (same with cars) - I would buy a gun to use not...

Sarah Palin

Hi All,

Is Sarah Palin really as good as she sounds (ie lifetime NRA member, Sports(wo)man, etc)? I guess I've become a litle dubious about politicians anymore but after hearing her speak last night, she might be the real thing. Hope so.

What do you think?

Belly Band Carry

Hi All,

I saw someone mentioned a Galco belly band (in the Smart Carry thread). I'm wondering if people have had good luck with belly bands. If so, which one specifically. In the previously mentioned thread, I see one vote for the Galco. Just wondering what others people like.

Thanks,

Best Night Sights ...

I'm interested to see what you guys think are the good, bad, & ugly for night sights. I'm mainly focusing on aftermarket here but if there are makers of night sights that I don't know of, feel free to add them to my list 1) TruGlo 2) Meprolight 3) Trijicon 4) AmeriGlo 5) P-T 6) XS (formerly Ashl...

Bill's Show this weekend

Hi all, Just wondering what everyone thought of the Bill's show this weekend. I took 1/2 day off of work & ran over there on Friday afternoon. It was BUSY. As I walked up, I saw someone walking out with a new rifle ... I asked him if he got a new toy & he said "You can never have too ma...

Conversions ... Sig, Glock, CZ ... etc

I, like some of you, am always on the look out for the perfect carry / shooting handgun. I like Sigs, CZ, Glock, & others but am interested in the concept of buying a 357sig/.40 that can be converted to 9mm for shooting. I have a limited budget for purchasing ammo, don't have the time for reload...

Carrying caliber ... your opinion

OK, I know that this is a HOT topic but I'm looking for data (published reports, police studies, or personal experience) as to what calibers are too big and what calibers are too small. I'd really like to keep this civil and not start a yelling match but I've heard good arguments for large calibers ...

Have you bought guns from online dealers?

Has anyone purchased a new handgun from an online dealer? I'm wondering if you've done better with price (after transfer & shipping) that you would've done purchasing locally? If you've had good luck, could you post who you've purchased from?

Thanks

Re: How do you carry spare mags

Srigs ...

Just curious, is there such a thing as a pocket holster for mags? I'm thinking with a rough exterior so that you can retrieve your mags but there so that you don't print.

Just curious
