Re: Some basic 1911 questions for a 1911 Newbie

Hi All, Thanks for the responses. A couple more questions ... 4) Is there any reason NOT to get a 1911 in 9 or 40 (i.e. is there any problem with these related to the caliber compared to the 45) 5) Is there any problems getting parts for these 1911's (i.e. 9 or 40) as compared to a 45? Thanks again,...

Some basic 1911 questions for a 1911 Newbie

Hi All, I'd like to get my first 1911 just for shooting but I won't have a lot of money to spend on one. While I save for it, I've got some basic questions regarding various 1911's. 1) I think I've seen that Kimber makes a 9mm (and 40 cal?) 1911. Are there other makers of 1911's that make a 9mm? I'm...

Re: Picked Up the SIG P250 today at Bills

My $0.02, I was at Bill's North on New Year's day and Mark spent about an hour showing me all of their compact semi-autos and giving me his own ideas of what was good & what wasn't. I really appreciated the time he spent helping me. I'll definitely remember that when I'm looking for my next gun....

Re: Conceal Gun for Small Hands

I FINALLY picked up a Sig 239; and I'm done ... That's the one that fits me the followed by the M&P. The Sig comes up really nice and just fits my hand really well. If anyone knows of someone with a used Sig 239 in good shape, let me know. I'd like to shoot one first but if it shoots as well as ...

CC gun for Small Hands part II

OK, Thanks for everyone who posted. I'm thinking now of something like the compact M&P (not sure of caliber yet) or perhaps the Beretta 9000. Does anyone else have ideas? I tried the XP, it's nice but I'm not sure if it fits me (I'll try to shoot one before I make a final decision). I really lik...

The Lady who stopped the Colorado BG

Hi All, I'm wondering if you're reading the mass media the same way I am. Most of the reports say that a "volunteer security guard" took the shooter down in Colorado. To me, that reads "a person who works a security guard job but volunteers as one for the church with a conceal & c...

Re: Conceal Gun for Small Hands >> Kahr, M&P, & SIG P239

Okay ... I've got a few to add to my list. I'll have a look at the Kahr, the S&W M&P, and the Sig (and a second look at some smaller 1911's). Which of these do you guys like for reliability. If I ever have to pull the trigger, I want to KNOW that it will fire correctly. Your opinions? thanks...

Conceal Gun for Small Hands

Hi All, I'm a newbie to MNGUNTALK but I thought I'd quick ask for people's opinion on a good conceal gun for a guy who has small hands. I'm a fan of the 1911's but I can't reach around for the magazine release. So far, I'm considering a Springfield XD or Glock but I'm aslo a fan of steel. If you've ...
