Re: I've got a new favorite carry gun

I use a Crossbreed supertuck with Velcro clips and a velcro belt. That way it totally disappears even when wearing dress slacks, tucked in shirt, and tie.

I have fired a few 1911's, my son's H&K USP, and my nephew's P226. All very nice, but I just prefer the Glocks for a carry weapon.

I've got a new favorite carry gun

I know Glocks aren't for everyone, and I avoided them until about 2 years ago. Then I had someone offer to let me use their G19 at an all-day run-n-gun training class. I said that my gun was plenty good, well half way through the day both of my guns had crapped out on me so I used his 19 all afterno...

Re: Re: Clearance to carry at the state capital grounds

Just email the notification. You get a scanned copy emailed back marked "received" with the date and time. Paper is so 20th century. I tried that, got nothing. How did you go about it? Posted from Tapatalk on my Galaxy Note II while using the restroom. You email this dude: michael.hutchin...

Re: Sub2000 locally? Anyone actually seen one?

I had one a year ago, but sold it on this board to another member to finance another purchase last spring that had me itching. Boy was that a mistake. Really wish I would have kept it. If you find one, hold on tight.

Re: Conceivability vs. round count

I have taken several training courses (from basic, to challenge, to stress fire, even force on force) what those classes have taught me is that I am no good with a small firearm under duress. The smallest gun I can efficiently and effectively operate under those conditions is my Glock 19. The gun I ...

Re: So why do I want a snubbie???

In trying to figure out when a g21 will need a backup I really appreciate all of the comments. Thanks guys this helps me through my thought process. I dont really see this snubbie as a back up for when I am carrying either my G19 or G21. As I said earlier, both guns have proven totally reliable and...

Re: So why do I want a snubbie???

I had a chance to fondle a few options over lunch. All were concealed hammer, which I think is essential for my intended use, the LCR, two differnt Taurus models, an S&W 642, and an S&W Bodygaurd 38. The LCR felt the best in my hand. The 642 was the smallest of the four and concealed the bes...

Re: So why do I want a snubbie???

Thanks for all of the comments. I'm not worried about being able to shoot a snubbie well. I got to be reasonably quick and accurate with one of the more "difficult" small guns on the market (PF9). I also don't think that I need a gun to back up either of my primary carry guns (G21 or G19)....

Re: So why do I want a snubbie???

It surprised me that according to the spec sheets I have read, the LCR and S&W 642 are both narrower than the G21 I carry everyday. Their wieght, shape and concealed hammer make them excellent for pocket carry. The down side to them is the whole issue of stocking another caliber that is kind of ...

Re: Remora Holsters

I have a Remora tuckable that I use for my G19. It works great. If you position it so that the gun rides a little on the high side and the tuckable flap is at the same level as your belt it works much better than if the gun is riding lower and the flap is below your belt line. Also you need to make ...

So why do I want a snubbie???

I am fortunate to have a body size/shape that easily conceals my prefered carry gun, a Glock 21. Its comforting to know that I always have a flawless, full-size 45 loaded with 14 rounds of 230 grain +p HST's at my side. When that is a little too much gun to conceal then I go to my G19, but 80% of th...

Re: Dang glock

I'm with you Anoka. I resisted for 4 years, and made up all sorts of reasons why Glock was not for me. Then I tried a Gen4 G19, and it totally changed my perspective. I ended up doing some trading and selling of other guns to buy a Gen4 G19 and a Gen4 G21. Now my carry rotation is my G21 about 75% o...

Re: My brand New KelTec, PF9. Two rounds and..............

I've said it before, and will say it again. Go to the Keltec site and order the +1 extension for the magazine. It allows you to carry 8+1 and only adds a 1/2" to the grip length, but adding that 1/2" makes all the differnce in the world for shooting comfort and reliability.
