Re: WI four hour training

How can states that have Constitutional carry not have any training at all? How can they allow untrained people to carry firearms? It seems outrageous. Is four hours too little? Is forty hours too much? Constitutional Carry is a term used to describe a situation within a jurisdiction in which the ca...

Re: Minnesota Wolves

I was told long ago that the rule of thumb was: In a pack = wolf; Solo = coyote.

Is that wrong?

Re: Getting Expensive to Shoot

no press?! http://krok.us/images/smilies/shrug.gif Yes. I even have a whack-a-mole in 45 colt. The press is set up for .38 Special and I am lazy. Besides I don't have that much brass in .45 Colt, about 150 pieces. I should have bought more from the fellow that was selling some...

Re: Getting Expensive to Shoot

I'm not sure about .45 Colt but I just bought a 100 round box of Winchester .45 ACP 235 grain for $35 today at Walmart. Seems on par with current pricing. 45 ACP is reasonable as hell. The only two things that I have problems with (this involves the whole world  ) are .380 and .45 Colt. Ne...

Getting Expensive to Shoot

I went into Wal-Mart in Eagan today and bought two boxes of WWB 9mm. I saw that they had 45 Colt for $22.95/box. I asked if those were 50 round boxes (I couldn't see well enough to tell and they weren't marked on the end of the box). They were Winchester brand, 255 grain lead round-nose. The clerk t...

Re: personal gun sale question

I dont get the one year thing. Lets say you have a friend who is PTC holder. No prior criminal history or any deviant behavior ever. He buys your Glock (sorry had to use a gun of some form) and then, 6 months later, goes and robs a bank using the same Glock. How could you ever be held accountable f...

Re: Uberti?????????????

I have owned two Uberti firearms. An 1848 Colt .31 caliber reproduction that I bought long ago and gave away, and an 1860 Colt. The quality is good, but certainly not up to the standards of more prestigious manufacturers, as others have indicated. I do believe that all of their goods are functional ...

Re: looking to buy my first handgun any ideas

From the experiences of a seasoned traveler, the most horrible words you can ever hear: " Try this, it is MY favorite ." Again, seek your own way. Find what suits YOU. Many firearms have been designed to suit almost any situation and personal need. Which is why we have firearms w...

Re: looking to buy my first handgun any ideas

That is very akin to asking what girl to marry. It is all up to you. The world is your oyster. Look, examine, feel, maybe even fire a few (at least one gun store I know of will let you rent). If you have cash in your pocket and a desire for a handgun, I am jealous of you. Good luck! I hope you do we...

Re: Abolish Slug Zone Label

Saboted slugs, when fired out of a rifled barrel, are generally far more accurate than non-jacketed slugs out of a smoothbore, with accuracy to 300 metres (330 yd) approaching that of low-velocity rifle calibers. From a shotgun? You would have to position it like a mortar to get 300 yards, wouldn't...

Re: What if there was no deer hunting?

If memory serves Ramsey County is having a "hunt" to cull the deer herd. I welcome it. This is the first year in over five years that we were able to save any tomatoes and sunflowers in the garden. We purchased 8 foot high fencing to encircle a 10 foot by 10 foot area in the garden. We had...

Re: Judge throws out concealed carry charge against Bartlett

He had to spend time and money to defend himself from bogus charges, but he still was guaranteed his day in court. God bless the U.S. of A.

Re: What guns are you currently looking to buy?

I have always wanted a S&W Model 1917. I love .45 Colt. Being a poor, retired, citizen I recently had to reduce my sights to a Model 25-5. Having checked the prices on those this very poor, retired, crippled, old man is now looking for a Taurus 450 in good shape at a price I can afford.
